After hearing of your trials today, I felt a need to write you a letter. I have no clue what your situation is so I will not preach to you or tell you what to do. My purpose in writing this letter is to share some of the things I have learned on my life journey and hope that in some way it will help you. Again, I am not judging you just sharing what little knowledge I have gained.
I believe that you have received numerous gifts from God, the first being yourself. God created you and it is up to you to take care of yourself and be the best person you can be so that when you go home to God at the end of your life on this earth you will be able to return his gift, better than when you got it.
Another gift you have received is a man to love and be married to. Again, I don’t know what your situation is but you have made a sacred commitment to this man and God. You are responsible to do whatever you can to make the marriage work, without compromising yourself. Be your own person, don’t let him control you but be his partner. By being your own person, you will be able to handle problems that may arise and by being a partner, the two of you can overcome these problems together. You are a team, but not one that benefits from the subjugation of the other’s principals and values. It takes three whole people to make a marriage, you, your partner and God.
Yet, other gifts you have received are your beautiful children. They are truly a gift from God and deserve to be treated as such. When I look at my children and grandchildren I thank God that I have been blessed with such wonderful gifts. I pray for the strength and the wisdom to raise them as good, caring Christians. I pray for the resources and the knowledge to ensure they are healthy, clothed and fed. Then I finally pray that I give them all the love they need. How could I do any less for God’s creations? Take care of these precious gifts and pray to God as I do, so that you will be the best parents you can be.
It is time to step up to the plate and take responsibility for your gifts. God has placed them in your safekeeping, so keep them safe. God chooses very carefully where he places his gifts, shouldn’t we be just as careful in our choices about what we do with those gifts.
May God Bless You and Keep You.
Love,
Your Sister
