As we draw closer to the day when we celebrate the birth of our Lord, the harder the enemies of the Christian faith work to suppress religious expression, and oppress those who dare cross the invisible line of separation of church and mind.
Every year it gets worse as those who are opposed to Christ and his Gospel, strike out to silence the message, the message that people need to hear the most. The message of Christ coming to this earth as a tiny baby exclusively to give himself as a willing sacrifice for our sins.
Liberals regard this wonderful message as hateful, and close-minded, but we know different. It is a message of hope, of God's love for sinful man in which he chose to tolerate the cross, for he does not tolerate our sin one bit.
In that lies the problem with those who consider themselves to be "enlightened", they are blind to their own sin, and willfully so, for they have chosen to be ignorant of the things of God. Some of these folks will claim to be Christians, and to believe in God, but just mention Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven and just watch them exuberate the tolerance their always talking about.
The problem is that many in this country are living in direct rebellion to God, and his Holy Word, and they do not care about hearing the Gospel message, for they believe they will get to heaven because they have been a good enough person. Some do not care if they wind up in Hell someday, they are living for today, living to satisfy their flesh in the present day, and they will do whatever feels natural to them even if it is very unnatural.
In fact they are working to make it illegal for Christians to share the message of the Gospel in public places, and to certain groups of people. Eleven Christians were arrested not that long ago in Philadelphia Pennsylvania for showing up at a homosexual outfest for daring to share the Gospel message with the lost souls. They now face a host of charges that could land each of them in prison for up to 47 years.
The message of Christ must continue to be heralded, and the lost must hear the message lest they loose their eternal souls. We have a duty before Almighty God to preach the Gospel unto the entire world, and that does not mean we keep it within the walls of our churches, as our enemies would like us to do.
My advice is this; do not let the enemies of the faith sidetrack you from standing for the truth. Christmas is about Christ, and is a sacred Christian celebration, not a secular holiday. Even during the Christmas season we still must be salt and light to the world, even if they don't like it, for we are the only chance they have of hearing the message of hope through Christ Jesus.
