" So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Genesis 1:27
God brought all beasts and fowls unto Adam " to see what he would call them." Genesis 2:19
"And Adam called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living." Genesis 3:20
Adam and Eve were the first man and woman creations made by God. In a lovely garden he placed Adam and Eve along with trees with rich fruit and food, the tree of life, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He gave them specific instructions. They were to dress and keep the garden. God told them that they could eat any fruit from any tree, but do not touch or eat from the forbidden tree in the midst of the garden, or you will die. They disobeyed God's warning to not eat nor touch the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eve was deceived by the serpent and ate the apple from the tree. Then she convinced Adam to eat also. They were punished severely by God. They were forced to leave the beautiful and peaceful Garden of Eden. Adam would have toil very hard the rough and sometimes unfertile land to eat; Eve would have pain in childbirth. Eve would now be subservient to her husband; Adam and Eve would someday die and be returned to the ground from which he worked. God saw that they were no longer innocent; they were ashamed of their nakedness before holy God. God clothed them with coats of skin and sent them away. God had to put angels to watch the holy tree of life which made man immortal, because he could no longer trust Adam and Eve, who because of curiosity, disobedience, and disbelief listened to an evil serpent rather than Almighty God, their Creator.
"And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." Genesis 3:22-24
