I was going through the attic today
Clearing out what should probably be thrown away
When I found a box of letters -
Writings from a past I thought better left unrecalled.
These letters took me by surprise
Because they were love letters from me to You
They were written back in better times
When my faith in You was strong
Then things happened and time rolled on
I forgot all about them, and about You
I can't help but see how I loved You then
As I dust off the window seat and sit down to read
I wrote to You so often, and about so much
It's hard to believe how little I remember of it
Now that I have these in my hands
Father, please forgive me for forgetting
For letting life get in the way
Help me, Lord, to find that faith again
Give me that desire again
To write to You more love letters
