From one pom-pom pattern you can make all sorts of animals.
Materials and Tools Needed:
* 2 pieces or cardboard at least 8-inch square.
* Compass
* 1 ball of 8-ounce wool
* Pencil
* Scraps of felt
* Scissors
* Fabric glue
* Pipe cleaners
* Sequins
* Shirring elastic
Directions to follow:
1. Using the compass draw a circle, 3 inches in diameter, on both pieces of cardboard. Cut out both circles with the scissors.
2. In the center of each circle, make another circle, 2 inches in diameter, cut these circles out.
3. Put one piece of cardboard on top of the other.
4. Tie the circles together and wind the wool round and round through the hole in the middle until all the cardboard is thickly covered.
5.Carefully cut around the edge of the cardboard pattern with the scissors, keeping one blade between the two pieces of cardboard.
6. Pull the pieces apart slightly. Tie a piece of wool very tightly around the center of the ball.
7. Remove the cardboard and fluff out the woolen ball, a pom-pom.
CHICKENS:
1. Make two yellow pom-poms, one slightly larger than the other.
2. Cut diamond shaped yellow pieces from felt and fold it in half. Stick it in place for a beak for your chickee.
3. Make two yellow legs from pipe cleaners by twisting them around each other and through the center of the larger pom-pom to hold them in place.
4. Stick on two black sequins for eyes.
5. Firmly tie the head to the body
6. If you want to hang you Easter chick, attach a piece of shirring elastic from your sewing box.
SPIDERS:
Past on eyes, make a small felt mouth. Attack pipe cleaner legs bent into leg shapes.
CATERPILLARS:
To make a Pom-Pom Caterpillar, make balls of different colors and firmly lay one on to the other, glue on two eyes, and make a short antennas with pipe cleaners and attach two small pom-poms at the end of their antennas.
