As it WAS.....and IS

Does ANYONE remember...
That 'smooth as satin' drawl,
When 'plowboy' Eddy Arnold
Would yodel "Cattle Call"?

Or when old Gabriel Heatter
Would fill each soul with fright,
With his ominous pronouncement,
"There's BAD news here. tonight."

But as 'high-tech' has come of age,
The 'smoother' sounds have gone.
So many songs that reach our ears
Come talentless...and...WRONG!

NOW...nighttime news...does not alarm
Or horrid thoughts infer.
The way it's covered...nowadays,
We watch....bad news....occur!

If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW

You're so right! I hadn't thought of it before, but we do "watch" bad news occur. I think that says something about our hearts....and the new hunger that has invaded them. Don't you think. Thanks for another thought provoking poem.

Very good! This is why we don't get the newspaper anymore.
