MY patience grew....so VERY thin,
(I TOLD God....what to DO,
To solve MY problem...how to ACT
As I would....have HIM to.)
He listened....but He shook His head;
Said, "Put your mind....at rest,
For when it happens....(if it DOES)....
You'll see MY way....was best."
I'd had 'control'....of sev'ral things....
Made schedules....worked MY plans.
I had a crew....that carried through
WHATEVER....I'd demand!
And now....this Fellow...in the sky
Is telling ME....to WAIT?
'twas almost more....than...ego
Would let me....tolerate.
But as I aged...and mellowed,
I clearly heard His Voice.
I gave Him my attention....
(By THEN....I had no choice!)
One day He told me....in HIS time
He'd 'see about'....my prayer;
And when HIS answer came....(at last)...
It PROVED....His love and care.
So...if YOUR patience....with the Lord
Is almost...at its end,
And you are...'scouting' out the ways
To find a....FASTER...Friend,
Your search is VAIN...your mission...MOOT!
(Your life has lost....accord.)
You HAVE to LISTEN.....with your HEART....
Then....WAIT...upon the LORD!
