(I was inspired to write ‘My Name Is Judas Too!’ after I read ‘My Name Is Judas’ by: Dayo Osho)

‘I can imagine the wrong impression mankind, especially Christians, have about me. As a matter of fact, my sojourn to earth was to fulfill the scriptures concerning our Lord and Savior. I love the lord too. I served him. But wait a minute! Did I really betray him? Was I really a traitor? Had I not ‘kissed him’ before the Roman soldiers, how would mankind ever embraced salvation?
If you’re a good Bible student, you’ll know that the Lord first ‘fed me’ before he charged me… ‘To do the thing that I want to do quickly’. I am what ‘you’ call an errand boy. Whether you admit it or not I am some sort of a ‘Little Hero!’
I must admit that it was wrong for me to secretly ‘spend’ from the apostles’ purse without the Lords permission. However it was not on all cases that I lavish money for my personal interest. I remember vividly, once on the Sabbath (without the Lords knowledge though) I gave some ‘fat offering’ in Jerusalem. You need to see the faces of the brethren.
There were several other occasions that I gave ‘sacrificial offering’ at the synagogue of the ‘Gentiles’. At the end of such gathering, ‘the poor’ would come to me for arms and I never let them down. How could I? I have heard some of our Canaanite women saying. ‘Judas has greater interest in the welfare of the temple, unlike the other disciples.’ Even the little boy with the ‘two fishes and five bread’ once benefited from my generosity. (I shall save that story for another day) It amuses me that a lot of people assumed that the ‘Jewish kid’ willingly gave his ‘lunch’. In truth, he was about to ‘grumble’ when he sighted me…and my friendly smile gave him hope.
I must not fail to use this medium to applaud myself for partaking in the process of accomplishing one of the greatest missions in turning the ‘spirituality’ of mankind around. I should be appreciated at least for that. Down here we chat about those glorious days, when we trekked the streets of ‘Galilee’ to preach the good news unlike your present day. I hear that some of your preachers are transported in ‘First Class’, ‘private jets’ and chauffeur driven ‘Limousine Cars.’
Come to think about it, this was what we did in ‘Judea’ on foot. Who was even opportune to ride a cart? Let me think. ‘…Mmm, Peter’s boat. I never liked that old fishing boat of his. Yes! Except the master. It was him and the other disciples who rowed inside. There was this beautiful cart I saw one of the Pharisees in. It was a well built Roman cart. I was tempted to ‘hire’ it for the Lord but I later gave up the idea. In those days the Lord didn’t even ride in any ‘wooden cart’ but a ‘borrowed donkey.’ (How I wish that we had borrowed a horse instead).
Your church I was also informed is more of an ‘enterprise’. ‘Prosperity’ rather than ‘salvation’ has become some of your preachers’ sermon. What has happened to the faith of the church?
My name down here is still ‘Judas!’ I didn’t change my name like some of you folks would do. Can you believe that the saints here in paradise call me ‘Judanaman?’ Let me tell you the meaning: ‘Judas’ who paved the way for ‘mankind’. I am highly respected here. I am sure that some of you (with your ever unforgiving mind) would hope that I rot in ‘Hades’ with the demons. Well the good Lord had plan ‘B’ for me after I hanged myself. Now don’t imitate me by trying to escape from the nemesis of your wickedness. (Let me leave that issue aside…) ‘My savior didn’t forsake me. You may wonder how? I shall share that testimony in a moment.
Do you remember the story about the two thieves that were hung on the cross? One of them is here with us. He is called… never mind about his Hebrew identity. Anyway we share the same chamber. Our ‘Golden chamber’ is known as ‘The Chamber of Mercy’.
Now shortly after I passed away to the other end. The Lord came there during his ‘three days transition tour’ and offered to us ‘hope’. That was how some of the saints made it to ‘the chamber of mercy.’
The good Lord always has a second plan for humanity. When the first Adam sinned and brought death to all flesh, he brought forth the second Adam, to redeem man to glory. ‘Every child of God’ no matter the gravity of his offences, has a second chance to repent. Except that majority of his ‘chosen saints’ always miss that ‘golden offer.’
I was one of such. I kept myself occupied ‘chasing after the wind’ by perambulating through the streets of Galilee. While pride, greed, deceit, and other unimaginable (ungodly) thoughts were growing in my inside.
I have long leant my ‘bitter lessons’ the hard way. Imagine the humiliations that I brought upon my immediate family, the reproach that my name still bear, and the ‘pain’ I felt on that tree. These are child’s play compared to the torment that my ‘soul’ went through. As for you may I leave you with this thought provoking question?
