Are there any dangers in being afraid? We usually think of all the dangers in being a hero. But we never seem to think about what we have to face, if we’re afraid to begin with. It sounds all the same doesn’t it? No matter what we’re going to be afraid. So there it is, Life in its weirdness.
It’s a big universe and we don’t even know what’s beyond all that. So we might as well deal with what we do know and just speculate about all the rest. Meantime, doing whatever we have to do. Everything that is important is contained in this moment. Yes, there are definite dangers in being afraid.
Fear can cause us to feel paralyzed. We’re not sure what we should do. We know inside what it really is, that must be done. But the second we hesitate the Devil has us. Fear can be a state of the mind yet at the same time, it’s a feeling. Our feelings are important but our Will says yes or no. So being afraid is a temptation to plunge into the darkness. But holding strong unto the Light, touching the face of Jesus with your thoughts is your real strength. A mouthful, isn’t it? Yet every word is true and so important. We must think carefully what we are doing.
There are new things to think about everyday. We must not dwell on one thing too long. We must keep moving! There are things to discover, love to be tested and hate laid to rest before we will have peace.
Spiritual peace…a nice concept but there is much to be done before we have won the war. Spiritual forces deem it necessary to make a choice and we must make that choice everyday. If we are to stand up and be counted as God’s children, then we need to say what we feel, at least to each other. Maybe that’s why The Way flourished to begin with…people trusting each other, love spreading like the whisper of the wind. There’s so much we don’t know about each other yet in the spirit of Christ, we do know it.
The spirit of Christ abides in us all, yet so often we do not recognize it in ourselves or others. We get upset, frustrated, and feel that too many things are going wrong. This is the time we need to relax and trust in God. In our world that is not always so easy. But we must remember that God is in charge whether it seems like it or not.
A good verse in the Bible to remember is 1 Peter 3:13-17. By remembering God’s promise to you, you will be comforted. If you‘re suffering, let it be for God. Another question is “Does God Love Me?” Yes of course, He does. Romans 8:38-39 tells us this quite clearly. Scripture that is important is that which tells us of His love. Reading it daily, comforts and sustains us. Trust in God and all His goodness.

Good thoughts...John Wayne once said..."Courage is being scared to death -- and saddling up anyway." There are dangers but thankfully "perfect love casts out all fear". Thanks for sharing! - Jay Cookingham
