6:30 in the morning, the sun has just risen,
the dew on the grass, still slightly glistens.
I rise out of bed to start my routine,
Put on some water on– for my daily caffeine!
I sit down at the table and open my Bible – eyes still blurry
God joins in beside me and begins sharing His Story.
“From the creation of light to the animals –
to the fall of man, then the tower of Babel”
He mentions Abraham, Joseph & Moses –
And gives great details to the 10 plagues of Egypt.
Finally He comes to the completion of the tabernacle, where He and his chosen would meet,
And he shared His vision of Aaron -anointed first high priest!
I close the Bible and take another sip,
I marvel Gods Word for a few precious moments.
As the warmth of the coffee travels my soul-
I began to share my story, Gods attention holds.
“From my creation, baby to teen –
remembering the scrapes, bruises & heartaches in between.
My teenage years were pretty rough,
My young adults…were nothing but!
And now..I’m on this current road,
A few lingering questions – and a heavy load.
As I continue, His love draws me near-
“Tell me child” are the words I hear.
The traumas, the guilt, the tears and the worry,
Unload at the table, over fresh cups of coffee.
We come to the last sip in our coffee mugs,
I smile
I think I’ve have rambled way to much!
Our time runs short, I have things that need to be done –
I thank God for His time of listening, and for the sharing He has done.
We end in a word of Prayer, both feeling refreshed,
We get up from the table, as I start to clean up our mess.
I rinse out our cups and I lay them to dry,
A sudden peace fills my spirit deep inside!
I stand quiet to absorb this warmth that drapes over me,
That is when I hear God say,
“See you in the morning and save a cup for me”
