TRUSTING JESUS
Trust is a critical element of faith. Trust is the confident assurance in God’s personality, that He is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do. Trust is the foundation of faith, it’s what faith is built on. Is faith different than trust? Yes it is. Trust will keep us hoping. What is hope. Hope is the belief in a positive outcome, a happy anticipation of good.
We trust doctors and dentists, lawyers and politicians more than we do Jesus. Most of us trust these people even though we have not established a personal relationship with them, and we really may not even know them that well. When we initially go to these people, most of them don’t even take the time, because they don’t have the time to talk to us to really get to know us. They will ask us a few general questions such as, how are you? What can I do for you? What’s bothering you? We trust these people because we believe they will be able to help us with our particular ailment. Do we trust that Jesus will be able to help us with whatever’s going on in our lives? God knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows what is going on in our lives and know that we are going to go through whatever it is, even before it manifests. However, we do not trust Him enough to give our problems to Him and let Him take care of them. He told us to “cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us.” (1 Peter 5:7) We are quick to say that we trust Him, but do we really trust Him? Yes, we trust Him when times are going good for us, but when trials and tribulations come into our lives, what happens to our trust? We trust Him in the good times, but why can’t we trust Him in the bad times—this is when we should really trust Him. I think we find it hard to trust in Jesus because we cannot see Him. We humans like to see and touch. We are like doubting Thomas who wanted to feel Jesus’ wounds before he was convinced that it was actually Jesus.
We trust in things. We trust that the chair we are going to sit in will hold us up. We trust that the different modes of transportation, plane, train, car, will get us to our intended destinations. We find it easy to trust in people and things, but when it comes to our Heavenly Father, the One who created us in His likeness and image, we find it hard to trust Him. We should trust in the promises of God and know that He will honor what He said. God keeps His promises
“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Num.23:19).

Faith is to believe without direct evidence in things unseen. Hebrews says something like that. We do, however, know God's character, see his creation, and remember how He's come through for us. Good point that we tend not to believe something we can't see.
If you come upon a burned out campfire in the woods, you don't see people, but you have faith they are there. Likewise, we see the universe so their had to be a creator.
Good argument about the relationship between faith, trust and hope.
