How can you be a sinner without committing even one sin? Be born into a fallen world with a fallen nature.
For as by the one man’s (Adam) disobedience the many were made sinners, Rom 5:19a
I think we can agree, if we had a choice to be born into a fallen world with a fallen nature or a world that was not fallen, I hope we would not choose the fallen world.
God is very aware of the fact that all of the descendants of Adam did not have a choice to be born with a fallen nature into a fallen world. We were all made sinners by Adams one act of disobedience.
We know that God is perfectly just and faithful even when we are not. He sees the injustice in the fact that we did not have a choice to be made a sinner or not. We were made a sinner, born in a fallen world with a fallen nature bent towards sin before we even committed one sin. So, the Father sent Jesus to rescue us, to allow us to now make the choice that Adam made for us in this world, to choose God or continue into eternity with Satan.
How can Jesus be made sin without committing even one sin?
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, 2 Cor 5:21a
On the surface, it appears that Jesus did have a choice and he chose to be made a sinner to take our place. But I would disagree and state without reservation that God did not have a choice to come to our rescue. He had to come. I say this because of who God is, His nature being love and He is perfectly just. His word tells us that he cannot deny His own nature.
if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself. 2 Tim 2:13 ESV
What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? Rom 3:3 ESV
God promised before time began.
in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began. Titus 1:2 ESV
God cannot lie.
And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or have regret, for he is not a man, that he should have regret.” 1 Sam 15:29 ESV
God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? Numbers 23:19 ESV
So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Heb 6:17-20 ESV
How can we become righteous without being righteous?
The same way Jesus who did not sin was made sin. Our loving and just Father made things right. For all who choose God, He imputes our sin onto Jesus and His righteousness onto us.
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Cor 5:21
