Jesus Christ Himself taught about hell in the story of the rich man and Lazarus, pointing out why the rich man went to hell (unbelief, greed and lack of compassion.) See Luke 16:19-31 & Revelation 21:8 which tells us who goes to hell and why.
I read your Arctic coal with interest. Although I don't disagree with anything that you wrote, I think there is more that could be said. For instance I agree with you that the fear of hell should not be the motivating factor in bringing meant to Christ. It is the goodness of God that needed the to repentance and I agree with that concept based on my own experience.
Recently someone asked me about my view on hell and I told them the best explanation possible is being separated from God that after we die we are each turn separated from him. That is something that can be said assuredly. Men without Christ are spiritually in hell right now because they are totally separated from the great love of God and the opportunities that this love gives. Thank you for being bold enough to speak on the subject that most people misquote him asunder standing Scripture do. In my view, most of these hellfire verses that are used are used outside the intended context and that is not sure that is fabrication.
In Luke chapter 16, there is some very practical teachings in this chapter in the matter of being faithful in how we handle other peoples business. In this chapter there is told of a steward who was unfaithful to his master but knowing that he is going to fail he took advantage and use his stewardship wisely to prepare for his future. In the story of Lazarus and the rich man we see a similar lesson on stewardship the rich man spent everything on himself and cared nothing for others but when his life was ended the tables were turned and he sought Lazarus who was the beggar to give him a drink of water. Although it is a popular verse or section to prove the subject of hell, in my 60+ years a Christian ministry I have never heard anyone preach on this whole chapter concerning this matter of stewardship. The teaching of Hell in chapter 16 is not the primary teaching of the chapter. It's easy to prove a doctrine we do not understand the context and the main truth which it presents.
