Dear God,
My sister is sick…she needs You
Without You, Lord, there are things she can't do.
I feel sad when she's feeling down,
So I try to act like a clown.
It cheers her up for a little while,
She’s still feeling bad, but rests with a smile.
She takes lots of medicine to help her feel better,
Some make her sleepy, so she sleeps, and I let her!
When she's awake we play games…
Puzzles and cards and just any old thing.
I stay with Grandma and Grandpa when she goes in the hospital,
We go to visit as much as possible.
It's always nice when she gets out,
It makes me want to scream and shout!
"My sister is home, Mama and Daddy too!"
Even our dog is happy, and he's new.
It's a little scary having a sick sister,
But Mama says for me to always remember…
All things are possible with You, dear Lord,
So I try to be brave and listen to Your Word.
I asked Mama what would happen if my sister died,
She said she'd be in Heaven, by Your side.
It scares me to think of her not being here,
Not being able to have her near.
Mama says You are The Great Physician,
That You comfort and heal; it’s part of Your mission.
So I pray if it’s Your will
You will help us deal.
Thank you God for hearing my prayer,
My sister is special, and she needs loving care.
I love her, You know, after all she's my sister,
If something happened to her I'd surely miss her.
You know what's best. You know our life's plans,
So please take care of us and keep us in Your hands.
In Jesus Name I pray,
Amen
