In Luke 16:19-31 we read the parable of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus.
How many times in our lives do we encounter a Lazarus? When we do, are we like the rich man, or are we a good Samaritan? We never know on a given day if we will encounter someone like the beggar Lazarus. Sometimes it may not be easy to tell. How we react to those we meet in our lives is dependent upon where our heart lies. If it is with Jesus Christ, then we shall be kind and compassionate. We must truly seek Jesus in those we meet.
There are two ways to help those who need it. One way is to supply material items as needed. We also can provide our time to assisting others. We also must share the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ with those we meet.
You do not know when you will see Jesus in the eyes of one you meet. Be kind, compassionate, and loving. Give freely of yourselves, just as Christ has freely given to you.
