“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint.” ___Isaiah 40:31
Have you ever been so close to a breakthrough that you became worn down? Have you ever felt as if you were pregnant and in your last trimester, the time where you have become restless and anxious, knowing that the time is soon, but not knowing when or where? You became irritable in your waiting and you soon began to tire out and want to just give up and induce the labor, but God wants everything to come naturally in its on time? And you have asked, “Lord how long must I wait, how long must I go throw this, there has got to be an end to this suffering.” All but to hear, “And this too shall pass!”.
Imagine those young men and women in the military who have been over in Iraq and other Middle Eastern countries for the past two years, they must be saying, “how long, how long, before I go back to my home, my country and see my family?” For those that are not Christians, who have no one to place their hope in, they are probably thinking, “will I ever go home, will I live through this to even tell it to my grandchildren”?
To us, there is a greater hope, because God says, those who wait on Him shall renew their strength, to wait means to remain or stay with, so what God is saying is that as long as we remain or stay with Him, our strength will be replenished because to renew means to refresh or to make new again. When we become, worn and overanxious, we can take a drink from His word and our minds get renewed. We have His word to stand on, and as we stand on His word, our strength is increased giving us the power to stand even longer, because the load is being lifted. That is why it says they shall mount up with wings like eagles, because as the load is lifted, we are able to soar high and aim high. And with that renewed strength we can continue on the journey in which He has mapped out for us knowing that in His time we shall see the salvation and as we come closer to the light, just as the expectant mother gets a burst of energy just before she delivers her baby, God gives us the power to stand once again and walk right into the promised land.
Don’t give up, don’t give in, your due season is about to manifest. Go through your birthing process, be broken and restored. Allow God to restore those fragmented pieces in your life, He can do it if you allow Him. Don’t throw in the towel before the fight has ended, get back into the ring and fight the good fight.
