The Fellowship of Jesus Christ
1 Cor 1:9
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
...............................................................................................................................
Beloved,
Fellowship is described as ...
- A company of people that shares the same interest or aim.
- A feeling of friendship, relatedness or connection between people.
- Spiritual communion with a divine being.
- To admit to fellowship, enter into fellowship with
- To join in fellowship; to associate with.
By God's mercy and faithfulness, we are called and admitted to fellowship with Jesus by the shedding of His blood. Not only the fellowship but into a spiritual communion described as ...
- A joining together of minds or spirits
- The sacrament of Holy Communion
Apostle John says ...
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1 Jn 1:3
We are called into fellowship with Jesus. Fellowship ...koinonia..gk. meaning ... partnership ...participation ...intercourse ...communicate ...communion ...contribution ...distribution ...fellowship with Jesus Christ bringing us into spiritual union and with one another.
Do you have fellowship with Jesus Christ?
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 Jn 1:6-7
Unto what reason were you created by the father? It is that He might have fellowship with you.
This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. Isa 43:21
Have you reviewed the quality of your fellowship with Him?
How deep is your participation in fellowship? Or your fellowship through prayer or with the Word of God and your fellowship with the saints?
Fellowshiping is not a passive one but to be an active participant. It is duty bound to show forth His praise and will to this crooked generation.
That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Eph 3:6
He had given the Holy Spirit as our power to witness to the world and partner with Jesus to heal this wounded world of ours and to bring men into the saving knowledge and fellowship by bringing the mind of God to bear. We have the mind of God because we are one with Him.
But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 1 Cor 6:17
Jesus the way, the truth and the life has brought us into fellowship, to commune with you through His Word and by His Spirit in prayer. Maintaining this fellowship makes us abide in our place in the body of Christ where His grace will reach you because of His fullnesss will we receive that grace.
Fellowship helps us to remain clean and sanctified to bear good fruits as a tree planted by the river. Jesus said ...
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Jn 15:3-4
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 1 Cor 1:30
By this intimate fellowship, we are clothed continuously in the unction of Jesus Christ to function well in our place assigned for us.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Gal 2:20
The glory of God rises upon us the more we move deeper into intimate fellowship to communicate the mind of Christ to your sphere of contact.
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Heb 3:14
And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2 Cor 3:4-6
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2 Cor 9:8
The communication of our faith to the saving of many comes to fruition by our deep fellowship with Jesus Christ our Lord which will overflow to people.
Be blessed
