"God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it"-1 Corinthians 10:13
Do you feel boxed in or overloaded with seemingly no way out? For some of you the answer is yes, for others you have experienced that feeling in the past, and for most of the rest of you your time is coming.
No one goes looking for ways to end up in horrible situations. On the other hand, no one can be so careful as to guarantee himself immunity against such trials. Life has strange ways of bringing together those chains of events that combine to hand us a test. The only practical approach to dealing with this reality is that of properly equipping ourselves.
Many years ago, I offered to help a new employee of our company move into his new apartment. He knew that I was a minister, so as we were going toward the apartment complex, he asked me a question. He wanted to know what do I do when people come to me with problems that are so terrible that I can do nothing to help them. I believe he thought I would stumble over that question; or, at least I would need some time to think about it. "I have never had a person come to me whom I couldn't help," I responded almost immediately.
My answer surprised him. I explained to him that there is no problem anyone faces for which the Bible fails to give counsel. I use the Bible to speak to a person's issue(s) in a practical and relevant way, I pray with them, and I encourage them to place their trust in God. The only ones who cannot be helped are those who cast off my counsel. I have learned that God is faithful, and when we place our trust in Him He will provide a way out for us.
Dear God in heaven, Thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for Your ability to deliver us from the horrible pits of life when we place our trust in You.... Amen.
