Don’t be fooled by the darkness-
Though it lingers, it’s just a temporary thing-
Do not let it snuff out of you
What it is that makes your heart sing.
Don’t be panicked by the waters
Though you see the waters rise
Don’t be shaken by the destruction
That is right before your eyes.
Do not be offended by friends who know only in part
The reasons behind the wounds of your heart.
Don’t you fear, though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death-
For it is but a shadow.
But dream again- dream again-
Laugh again, cry again-
Hope again, live again- embrace your God and His greatness-
The One who never stops embracing you.
No matter what things look like- no matter what they feel like-
He’s working things out for you- bringing you through-
Healing you in ways that no one else can- in places that no one else can see or reach-
Bringing restoration to your soul- showing you that in His covenant, there is no breach.
Rekindling your holy fire
Teaching you, stretching you- taking you higher.
Tearing down the enemy’s myth
Making you a force to be reckoned with.
Oh yes, it has been hard- folks think they know but they don’t really have a clue
About the things that have been happening to you
But what matters is what is happening in you.
You’re getting wiser, better, stronger
Because you’re learning not to depend on you any longer.
Taking it a step at a time- day by day
Trusting Me to lead your way.
You still feel the hurt- the pain through and through-
The difference is now you know it won’t kill you.
Although you’ve been bombarded by the very gates of hell
You’re beginning to understand that all is well.
