Do not be tempted to look through worldly eyes
That view is askew and you will see only lies
Whispers on the wind will tempt your ear
Rumors and gossip is all that you will hear
Do not be tempted to lash out in flesh
Instead let your words be those to bless
Speak not out in anger at your situation
Seek instead the Lord and His revelation
This too shall pass in a little while
Cling to your faith and endure the trial
God loves you and plans for your good
Let that lesson be deeply understood
Though times may seem full of trouble
With God and faith be blessed double
Life situations do not dictate your attitude
Let peace reign and give God your gratitude
B/S,
I’m going to share a testimony with you. Not to garner praise (for me) or sympathy (though I will gladly take your prayers), but to praise God in all things. Today I became unemployed. Intellectually it was a shock, but spiritually I felt it was coming. I want to share that it was not a pleasant situation, but the Lord gave me a peace that surpasses my understanding. I do continuous battle with pride and anger and today would have been the greatest stage it could have had to perform. Yet, I did not even feel tempted in that direction. I peacefully and pleasantly accepted it and left. My immediate supervisor seemed way more upset about it than I was. I told him that God has a plan and that I trust Him completely. I told him to not be upset nor lose sleep over it because I have God and He has given me peace (and joy) in the situation. I praise God for this change in heart. I praise God for closing this door to open a better door.
I can only pray that God used this unexplainable behavior in this situation to His glory. I can hear temptation knocking on the door through fiscal worry, future employment, etc, but I am not giving them ear. I ask you to pray for my family and for me to be patient and wait on the Lord. I have developed a pretty good network and should be able to land another job quickly, but I am going to take a step back, pray and wait. I don’t want to rush into a mistake when God has better plans for me. Maybe this is my Jonah’s fish, maybe my running from my calling has finally forced God to take a similar measure He had done with Jonah. I am still enrolled in college for a life of ministry. So maybe I am being spewed from the belly of the fish to go witness. Pray that I hear and obey.
God bless.

There is nothing better than seeing God's Hand move in His perfect time and sovereign way and knowing His peace that surpasses all understanding as it holds you tight and keeps you safe from what could harm you so badly if you walk from this heavenly protection. Continued faith and peace to you, brother, in this and all situations as you lay your burdens down and know the family of God is holding you up in prayer as you do for us! It's what family is all about :)
