I KNOW what I said!
But did I mean it?
When I used the word...."forever"
When I said "always" and "never"....
Was it ever in MY power
To guarantee it?
To the Lord, I said,
I'll ALWAYS be Your friend....
Then did some things....
That cause friendships....to...end.
Back in the 'fold'....I promised....I would stay,
And NEVER skip a time....when I should pray.
And then the Lord....made promises....to ME!
He said, "I'll stick by MINE...just wait and see!"
I'd used "always" and "never"....
Had the urge to say....."forever"....
Then He cautioned....."THAT'S not YOURS....to guarantee!"
