The rain spoke to my ears today and drowned the ache in my heart.
Who would have thought the sound of pain could be so loud.
Each drop drenched my being, turning to waves washing my cheeks.
Salt seasoned my mouth and tongue till the clouds were purged and my lips were parched.
I thirsted for relief; I thirsted for purified drops to quench my hurts.
The Son brought more rain, rain that cleansed my soul.
It washed over me like a faucet cleansing chocolate from a child’s face;
Warm and comforting like a bath, yet cool and refreshing like a river.
My smile no longer buried, my eyes no longer immersed in rain;
The windows of my soul were purified.
The pool of pain no longer flowed from my heart.
My essence became an endless ocean of freedom.
Freedom knowing the rain may come again, but tears of joy will take its place
For I have been cleansed by the rain of everlasting life.
