To My Children
To My Children
By Susan Coltrane-Dunn
Just be still and listen, I have something to say
What I am about to tell you will go a long way
All you little children this you must do
Obey your mother and father, always be true
As for mom and dad, show your child love
Teach them about me and my father above
For nothing can be greater than knowing my name
And what I have done for the blind and the lame
But what is most important, this you must proclaim
I died for your sins and Holy is my name
Believe in who I am and all that I can do
For everything I say will one day come true
My children, you must believe and trust in me
For my love will always surround thee
Engrave all of my words upon your heart
Keep them with you and do not part
I am going to prepare a place for each of you
A place where everything will be new
And when I return for that very last time
I will take all that belongs to me, all that is mine
I leave you with this from my father and I
Always be faithful and of me never deny
Read my book and always pray
Work toward Heaven, and know I am the way
