More than anything else,
On earth or heaven above…
I pray for God's wisdom,
In honoring the spouse I so love…
God - please remove the prejudices,
The self-centeredness in my house…
For only when I'm void of these evils,
Can I communicate divine love to my spouse…
I pray that on the stage of marriage,
I perform for the world to see…
Godlike love - enabling endurance to wrong,
Shared patience and commitment - given in humility…
God, please remove the desire for power,
In submission I realize your joys…
For how can I be attuned to my spouse's spirit
While self makes so much noise?
To say, "This is me - I'm not always proud"
Takes more courage than eyes ever see…
For two to remain one – I pray for your strengths,
Continued dedication….. growth - fidelity…
God, please remove the hidden fears,
Strengthen my commitment through each day's new age…
Allow me to cherish your gift of my spouse,
Your gift as a blessing –
