Let him or her Glory in the Lord
The Apostle Paul taught extensively on the topic of God’s Glory. I haven’t even scratched the surface of this topic (even though I was led to write 7 articles on this topic, so far.) The Truth is, there is more we can learn and tap into so we may continue to grow spiritually from Glory to Glory. The Apostle Paul wrote a powerful statement that we must consider, Paul wrote, that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:31 NKJV)
Hi Faith-writers, I thank God for another opportunity to share His Word with His people. As we continue on the topic of Glory. We are going to look at more SOLUTIONS that will keep us from falling short to God’s Glory.
Recap on the previous article
* We must believe in God’s Righteousness—not our own righteousness to become Born-again and to stop from falling short to God’s Glory. (Romans 3:21-22 NKJV/ Rom. 10:8-13 NKJV)
* We must believe that we have been Justified freely by God’s Grace. (Rom. 3:24 NKJV)
* We must believe that we have been Redeem by Jesus. (Rom. 3:24 NKJV)
* We must believe that Jesus took all our previous sins away by HIS Sacrifice—not because of our goodness. (Rom. 3:25 NKJV)
* We must believe that all this was done and it has a present application for us to take advantage of by Faith right now! (Rom. 3:26 NKJV)
If we believe the Scriptures as Paul made this clear to us in (Romans 3:21-26 NKJV). Then we can experience being Born-again (See Romans 10:8-13 NKJV).Secondly, we can also cease in some areas of falling short to the Glory of God.
Paul also gave us some more Scriptural principles that can keep us in the Faith after we are Born-again, so we won’t fall short of the Glory of God. The Apostle Paul wrote, that, as it is written, “He (or she) who glories, let him (or her) glory in the Lord.” (1 Cor. 1:31 NKJV)
What was Paul referring too?
Paul used an Old Testament passage of Scripture found in the Book of Jeremiah chapter 9, verses 23-24; and then made it into New Testament application for the Born-again Believer. We are going to look at what Jeremiah wrote about Glorying God, then checkout what Paul said about Glorifying God.
Jeremiah on the topic of Glorifying God
Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man GLORY in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man Glory in his might, Nor the rich man glory in his riches; (Jer. 9:23 NKJV)
But let him who glories Glory in this, That he understands and knows ME. (God the Father) That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight, says the Lord. (Jer.9:24 NKJV)
This Prophetic Word that was given to Jeremiah to share with the children of Israel is a spiritual reality check—or a reminder and wake-up call of why they are successful and blessed. Because God made it possible for them to succeed unlike other Nations of the world. And the entire point of what God wanted them to refocus on is, about who HE is. Jeremiah said it this way, that he (That’s us, as well as them) understands and knows Me. In what way? That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight, says the Lord. (Jer. 9:24 NKJV)
Again, this principle that Jeremiah spoke about was directed to Old Testament believers. This is why Paul caught a revelation of this Truth about Glorifying God and used it in his letter to the Christians at Corinth to instruct them in the same principle of Glorifying God. However, Paul connected this teaching of Glorifying God with the topic of God’s Calling in our individual lives.
Paul on the topic of Glorying God in Connection with our Calling
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. (1 Corinthians 1:26 NKJV)
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; (1 Corinthians 1:27 NKJV)
And the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, (1 Corinthians 1:28 NKJV)
That no flesh should Glory in HIS presence. (1 Corinthians 1:29 NKJV)
But of HIM you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—(1 Corinthians 1:30 NKJV)
That, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:31 NKJV)
What does God’s Calling on our individual lives have to do with Glorifying God? For starters this teaching that Paul is sharing with us is a teaching of Humility and Honor—in the area of Ministry and Glorifying God for the Calling HE placed on our lives.
Paul point’s to different classes of people that the world recognizes and highly regards as important in status and society. Yet, God hasn’t Called these high profile people the world deems important. The intellectual’s, Philosophers (Nobles), Doctors, Lawyers, Kings and dignitaries are seldom Called to serve God. A few high profile people have been Called like, Luke is a doctor/ who became an Apostle. Centurion Cornelius Acts chapter 10. Treasurer Ethiopian Acts chapter 8.The point is, few who are up-there socially are Called. Whereas, working-class or poor-class are more frequently heeding the Call of God and accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
However, if you are Rich or in a high status in society, don’t allow your success and title blind you from the humility and honor that’s required to tap into the Glory of God to be Saved (Born-again). And after you’re Born-again, don’t allow your worldly wisdom and riches keep you from learning more about God. But learn to understand and know God—who exercises lovingkindness, judgment and righteousness on the earth. (Jer. 9:24 NKJV) And Glorify God instead of your success and status.
Secondly, this teaching will shift our attention to what is really important in the Kingdom of God on earth—and that is, Glorifying God.
* Glorifying God for Providing Salvation for us through Jesus Christ.
* Glorifying God for the Righteousness HE imparts to us when we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
* Glorifying God because HE justified us freely—we did not have to work for our Salvation.
* Glorifying God because we have been Redeem by Jesus—HE bought or brought us back to God the Father.
* Glorifying God because Jesus died for our previous sins. This is a powerful Truth that will deliver us from the condemnation and guilt the devil desires to bring to our memory. Jesus became the Sacrificial Lamb of God. And HIS blood has the Supernatural Power to cleanse our Conscience from the dead works we committed in the past and allow us to freely serve HIM today.
* Let’s Glorify God because we can tap into all this Truth TODAY if we believe it.
* After we are Born-again we can continue to Glorify God for HIS Calling on our individual lives as believers.
* Let’s Glorify HIM instead of our status.
* Let’s Glorify HIM instead of our Riches.
* Let’s Glorify HIM instead of our social standing in society.
* Let’s Glorify HIM instead of how much we bench press in the gym.
* Let’s Glorify HIM whether were rich, middle-class or poor financially.
* The key is if we do Glorify HIM instead of the fame, human strength and abilities; God promises us greater success in the Kingdom of God on earth (See 1 Corinthians 1:30-31 NKJV) That will be our next message, Amen. God willing!!!
