Solutions for falling short to HIS Glory
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians at Rome giving them clear insight to the realities of humanity toward God from Romans chapter 3, starting at verse 1 through verse 23. It’s in verse 23, in Romans chapter 3, where Paul writes, FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD, (Rom. 3:23 NKJV).
Hi Faith-writers, I thank God for allowing me another opportunity to share HIS Word with HIS people. We are still discussing the topic of GLORY. And although it’s a lengthy topic, like most topics in the Holy Bible. We must dig into it deeper and more practical so it may grant us fresh revelation of how to tap into HIS GLORY (GOD’S GLORY)!
The Preachers Quote
When we hear the above verse, for all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God (Rom. 3:23 NKJV).
* We may have heard it several times by street corner preachers or Sunday service Pastors.
* We are immediately reminded of our sins.
* We may not understand what the verse is saying.
* We may think it has something to do with the topic of Salvation.
* If we attended a Seminar or took Bible classes we may understand that we must use this verse to quote it as we Evangelize the lost.
No matter what we may have been taught, we must always see Scripture as the writer expressed it, as he was inspired by the Holy Spirit. So, why did Paul use this sentence to bring out a known Truth?
Because all have sinned, Jews and Gentiles. No matter how much the Jews knew God’s law—they still sinned. Gentiles who did not know God’s laws—also sinned. So whether we know the laws of God or not we all sinned. This is what Paul spoke about from Romans 3:1-23 NKJV. However, Paul did not remain there—this is what we need to see and understand. Paul clarified the Solutions to falling short to God’s Glory.
God’s Righteousness, Justification, Grace and Redemption
It was verse 21 thru verse 26, in Romans chapter 3, where Paul began his Solution to this human dilemma of falling short to God’s Glory. Let’s read what Paul wrote about God’s Righteousness and how we can tap into it;
But now the Righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, (Rom. 3:21 NKJV)
Even the Righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; (Rom. 3:22 NKJV)
For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23 NKJV)
In my opinion, and if we were to look at other translations verses 22 and 23, should have been together.
Breaking Down these verses
* The Righteousness of God is revealed to us in the Old and New Testaments.
* The Righteousness of God is apart from the law. In other words, the law in and of itself cannot make us Righteous. The law only declares or witnesses to what God’s Righteousness is all about.
* Paul went on to point out that EVEN THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD, THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST, TO ALL AND ON ALL WHO BELIEVE, Is currently available!!!
* It is clear that everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, obtain through Faith the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD. This is a genuine Truth that we must catch a Divine Revelation of, in order to tap into the Glory of GOD. So we may stop falling short of HIS Glory.
* Connecting the last part of verse 22 with verse 23 together, Paul writes, For there is no difference for all have sinned (Jews and Gentiles see, Amplified Bible) and fall short of the Glory of God.
* Therefore, it is only by Faith in Jesus Christ that we can tap into the Righteousness of God. Not by the law. So if we rely on keeping the 10 Commandments without being Born-again, then we are going to fall short of God’s Glory. If we accept Jesus as our Personal Lord and Savior of our sins then we tap into the Righteousness of God—then God will enable us Supernaturally to grow spiritually from Glory to Glory. (See 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 NKJV)
Let’s continue to learn more
Paul continued to write, being Justified freely by HIS GRACE through the REDEMPTION that is in Christ Jesus, (Romans 3:24 NKJV)
Whom God set forth as a Propitiation by HIS blood, through faith, to demonstrate HIS Righteousness, because in HIS forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previous committed, (Rom. 3:25 NKJV)
To demonstrate at the present time HIS Righteousness, that HE might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (Rom. 3:26 NKJV)
Theology vs. Supernatural Revelation
Let me share some Biblical facts that Theologians overlook.
1. These verses in Romans 3:21-26 NKJV, were written together. Notice how after every verse there’s either a comma or a semi colon. With a period at the end of verse 26. So Ministers who quote just verse 23, that says, all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. May make unbelievers and believers uncomfortable if they fail to preach the rest of the verses above and below verse 23.
2. Ministers who were trained at some Theological Seminar usually quotes these verses;
“There is none righteous, no not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.” (Romans 3:10-11 NKJV)
Then Ministers jump down to verse 23, and cap-off their message with, “for all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.” (Rom. 3:23 NKJV)
Again making the unbelievers uncomfortable with their misinterpreted message of Salvation.
Telling someone they are a sinner and failing to point them to the solution of their sins is outright ignorance and fruitless. We must be wise in winning souls.
Falling short but there’s a Solution
There is a Solution to falling short to God’s Glory. The Solution is,
* God’s Righteousness—that can be obtained by faith in Jesus Christ. (Rom. 3:22 NKJV)
* We obtain God’s Righteousness when we believe several things by faith;
1. We have been justified freely by God’s Grace (God’s unmerited favor). God did not Justify us because of our good behavior. God’s unmerited favor was granted to us because of the Redemption that Jesus provided for us. (Rom. 3:24 NKJV)
2. God made Jesus to be the Propitiation (Sacrifice) for our sins. Propitiation means the appeasement of Divine wrath by a sacrificial offering. (Rom. 3:2 NKJV)
3. The Blood of Jesus has the power to cleanse us of our sins we previously committed. (Rom. 3:25 NKJV)
4. The last point Paul made about this wonderful Truth of Salvation is, that God’s Righteousness and Justification can be experienced HERE and NOW!
Paul wrote, to demonstrate AT THE PRESENT TIME HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, that HE might be just and the JUSTIFIER of the one who has faith in Jesus. (Rom. 3:26 NKJV)
In the Greek this Present Time is written in the Present tense—that is TODAY.
So by believing in God’s Righteousness, we tap into God’s Righteousness—not by law keeping. Believing that we are Justified freely by God’s Grace (God’s Unmerited Favor)—we can experience the Redemption that God provide for us. Believing that Jesus became the Sacrificial Lamb who took away our sins and appeased God’s wrath against us will allow us to walk in the Supernatural Peace and assurance that God is not angry with us. Believing that the Blood of Jesus was enough to cleanse us from the previous sins we committed will grant us confidence that God has forgiven us—so we can have peace in our heart that we have been forgiven despite our previous past sins. We can also have peace with God. And don’t feel that we have to run away from HIM—because of our sins.
Finally, by believing that we can experience all this HERE and NOW—we can experience HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. This is the Solution of falling short to His Glory. Amen!!!
Only Believe!!!
When I was a young Christian I believed what Minsters said, more than what the Bible taught. So, I would repeat, “for all have sinned and fall short to the Glory of God.” And remain stuck there and fail to really consider the rest of the verses that offer the Solution to falling short of God’s Glory. We must simply Believe in God’s Righteousness and all of the explanation that Paul gave us in Romans 3:21-26 NKJV.
* We must believe in God’s Righteousness—not our own righteousness.
* We must believe that we have been Justified freely by God’s Grace.
* We must believe that we have been Redeem by Jesus.
* We must believe that Jesus took all our previous sins away by HIS Sacrifice—not because of our goodness.
* We must believe that all this was done and it has a present application for us to take advantage of right now. Therefore, believe the Word of God. Believe the Scriptures. Believe what Paul wrote about this present Truth. Most of all, Believe in Jesus and HE will make all this clear to you.
