From Glory to Glory
The Apostle Paul explained that we grow spiritually from FAITH to FAITH (Romans 1:17 NKJV). And Paul taught us that we grow spiritually from GLORY to GLORY (2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV).
Hi Faith-writers, I thank God once again for allowing me to return and continue to share HIS Word with HIS people. I was on vacation with my wife, daughter and son. We had a great time, but now we are all back in school and work. During the vacation the Lord instructed me to teach on the topic of Glory. HIS GLORY and what is it, how HIS GLORY works, how do we tap into it, and what can we do to continue to grow spiritually from GLORY to GLORY.
Paul on the topic of GLORY
The Apostle Paul taught extensively on the topic of GOD’S GLORY. And when the Apostle Paul used the phrase, “From GLORY to GLORY,” he was making a spiritual point using the story in the Old Testament with Moses. When Moses was in the presence of God for 40 days. After the encounter Moses returned with GOD’S GLORY upon his countenance (face). (2 Corinthians 3:7 NKJV). Then Moses had to put on a veil because the people were afraid of the Supernatural Glow on his face. However, Paul uses this story to make a comparison between the GLORY of GOD in the Old Testament vs. the GLORY of GOD in the New Testament. (2 Corinthians 3:13-15 NKJV)
The point Paul made was that (the veil) which covered Moses’ face blocked GOD’S GLORY from the children of Israel. Today, the same is true, Israel is still blind to the GLORY of GOD whenever they read the 5 books of Moses, the law. (2 Corinthians 3:14-15 NKJV).
Paul went on to say, Nevertheless when one turns to the LORD, the veil is taken away. (2 Cor. 3:16 NKJV)
Now the LORD is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (2 Cor. 3:17 NKJV)
But we all (Born Again Christians), with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the GLORY of the LORD, are being transformed into the same image from GLORY to GLORY, just as by the SPIRIT of the LORD. (2 Cor. 3:18 NKJV)
Understanding the Process of GOD’S GLORY
1. Once we accept Jesus as our LORD and Savior, we are Born-Again, and the GLORY OF GOD is IMPARTED to us. We experience a small measure of God’s GLORY (THE SUPERNATURAL RADIANT GLOW) upon our faces.
2. As a result of becoming a new Christian, the veil of blindness and ignorance of God and HIS GLORY is immediately removed from our hearts (human spirits) and we become enlightened to the things of God. We gain Supernatural Revelation of the Word of God. In other words, we don’t walk around with the 10 Commandments like Moses on 2 slabs of stone. The WORD OF GOD is written in our hearts (2 Cor. 3:2-18 NKJV)
3. Now, the liberty which Paul was referring too, is the Divine freedom and ability to serve GOD without the condemnation and guilt we previously had in our conscience and minds before we were Saved (Born-Again). (2 Cor. 3:8-11 NKJV). To explain it better, before I was Saved (Born-Again), I used to believe that GOD was always angry with me because of the sins I was committing. I had an overwhelming Guilt and feeling of condemnation when I would enter any Church or be around holy God-fearing people, knowing I wasn’t living righteously. Now, after I became Born-Again the guilt and condemnation left me (Hebrews 9:14/ 10:16-23 NKJV). I am now experiencing the LIBERTY of Divine spiritual freedom to serve GOD without the guilt of the past and the condemnation of my mistakes. My conscience and mind has been cleansed by the Blood of Jesus.
4. As new believers with no veil blocking the GLORY of GOD, we can look into the mirror of GOD’S GLORY and see HIS IMAGE—as the SPIRIT OF GOD (THE HOLY SPIRIT) reveals HIS GLORY to us.
5. Then we are transformed into that same image FROM GLORY TO GLORY. Step by Step, Stage by Stage, Phase by Phase. Moses’ Experience and My Experience When the Apostle Paul mentioned the story with Moses he wrote, But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was GLORIOUS, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the GLORY of his countenance, which GLORY was passing away, (2 Cor. 3:7 NKJV) How will the ministry of the Spirit not be more GLORIOUS? (2 Cor. 3:8 NKJV)
To briefly explain what Paul was talking about, the GLORY of GOD that was on Moses when he presented the children of Israel with the 10 Commandments—was so GLORIOUS for them at that time that they couldn’t stare at Moses’ face. However, that Glory had disappeared after a while. What Paul is attempting to get across to us is that, Today’s GLORY OF GOD doesn’t go away—it becomes more GLORIOUS.
To make this point more practical and understandable allow me to share my testimony.
In April 1991, I ran into Junito (a Christian brother) who introduce me to the things of God. When I saw him, he was different from when I last saw him a year ago. I saw that he had on a white dress shirt—but what caught my attention was the GLOW (THE GLORY OF GOD) on his countenance. The GLOW on his FACE quickly gave me the idea that he was truly a believer. I said, Ahh man, don’t tell me you’re religious now! He said, I became a Christian 9 months ago. I kept staring at him because the GLOW (THE GLORY OF GOD) had my attention. Junito was beaming with GOD’S GLORY. Then I said to Junito, I pray! And I showed him the prayer I had in my pocket. Junito smiled and said hey, I have some material for you. I will give it to you tonight. He gave me that material and I read all that material and on December 28th, 1991 I became Born-Again.
However, the point I would like to make is that Junito was Saved for 9 months. That is 9 months (The GLORY OF GOD) was still upon him. It did not leave him--it got brighter and brighter as he continue to be transformed by the Spirit of GOD from GLORY TO GLORY. This is what Paul was referring too when he spoke about us experiencing the GLORY OF GOD. It becomes brighter—FROM GLORY TO GLORY.
Supernatural Glow vs. A Natural Glow
Today, as I walk down the street, in the park, the beach, at work I notice people looking at me. Some people who have friends or relatives that came out of prison, ask me if I came out of prison. Because prisoners come out with a healthy buff body and a natural glow. Others ask if I came from a refreshing vacation. Others ask if I’m a Christian. Then you have some people who would ask if I went to a Spa. Since people don’t know what the Word of God says about the Glory of God. They will ask about the GLOW upon your face and misunderstand why you are GLOWING. It’s the Spirit of GOD’S GLORY upon you, Amen. There’s a big difference between a Natural Glow and a Supernatural Glow. Paul was referring to a Supernatural Glow. I saw it on Junito even 9 MONTHS after he was Saved (Born-Again).
Now, I have this Glow and people look at me like I step out of the presence of God. People become uncomfortable at times when they see me and put their heads down, while others stare at me trying to figure out if I came out a prison, a Spa, or the shower. So when you experience these things and you are Born-Again, just remember you’re Beaming with the GLORY OF GOD. Hallelujah!!!
