Each one of us is,
A small bud at first,
Tiny and attached,
Not yet ready to burst.
As time goes by,
Each one of us grows,
Growing more mature,
As everyone knows.
Now we’re on the brim,
Of seeing the new world ahead,
Having a thirst for adventure,
Others try to keep us back, instead.
But nothing will stop us,
We’re going on out there,
Not listening to advice,
We pop into the air.
But quite to our surprise,
It isn’t as we thought,
Why all the hatefulness around,
Why isn’t it as it ought?
If only we had listened,
And not gone on instead,
We might have been more prepared,
For the wicked world ahead.
So now all we can do,
Is warn those, O Lord,
Of the wicked world out there,
If only they will heed Your Word.
