DEMON LIONS WHISPER DOOM
Written by: Teresa Lee Rainey/2003
In the evening when it’s bedtime,
Darkness creeps into my room.
Shadows grow and form to beings,
Demon lions whisper doom.
Shall I fear the demon lions
Whisp'ring doom into my ear?
If I listen oh so close,
My heart will be consumed with fear.
My heart beats fast like a freight train
As the demon lions creep
'Round and over to my bedside,
Threat'ning fangs breathe on my sheets.
Should I cry out for my mother?
This would be but twice tonight.
Demon lions crouch in corners
As she flips the bedroom light.
I remember what Mom said now,
Angels wait to rescue me.
All I have to do is pray, then
Demon lions have to flee.
I’ll just say a little prayer now,
“Jesus, won’t you help me please“.
Oh, I hope he hears my prayer still,
Though I am not on my knees.
What’s that piercing through the shadows?
Mighty warrior angels, right!
They have drawn their swords to save me,
They have come prepared to fight!
As the light fills up my bedroom,
I begin to count in fear.
Though there are three angels with me,
There are seven lions here.
Warrior angels marching forward.
Demon lions hold their ground.
Crouching demon lions attack.
Fangs, claws, swords fly all around.
Suddenly my room is silent,
Through a glowing light I see,
Warrior angels win this battle.
Those lions can't mess with me!
