"Do not touch anything beyond heaven", a fallen angel once warned me,
"Anything far from the golden gates is poison."
And as a cherubic youth, I took heed of his words,
never searching for beauty in storms,
nor underneath the dirt for bugs-
In the fear they could be Satan's henchmen
"Why do you always question everything, child?",
my mother once asked me.
"I do not know mother, I guess I feel unforfilled."
They told me do not tempt the bees, and beware their sting-
and naive was I, for I gave them honey,
Like the snake tempted Eve with knowledge
"I fear I have looked beyond", I told him,
"And I have gone blind."
He looked at me sadly, and whispered with a sigh,
"I warned you, child, do not look past God's land,
because there is nothing beyond heaven."
