You never said this walk would be easy, but I never thought it could be this hard.
You never said the road would be wide, but I never thought it could be this narrow.
You never said my journey would be smooth, but I never thought it could be so rough.
You never said I would cry no more, but I never thought my tears would flood the ocean's bed. You never said my life would be easy, but I never thought I could feel so low.
You never said pain wouldn't find me, but I never thought life could sting so deep.
You never said winter's cold winds would end, but I never thought they could last so long.
You never said the night wouldn't reach me, but I never thought it could grow so dark.
So why did I think life's troubles would end?
Why did I believe I would escape heartache and pain? No more sad songs to sing? No more sad teaas to cry. Only blue skies to fly?
Yes, You never said life would be perfect, but it doesn't really matter as long as I have you.
For in the end, I still know, you'll be there to carry me through.
