Many dogs run around.
They’re running on the ground.
One gold, one black and white
Sometimes they would even fight.
There is new family around me.
New faces are all I see.
Thank goodness I have my husband close by
Because I was shy.
Children are playing in the playground.
A twisty slide goes around and round.
People are playing ball and horseshoes.
No time for the blues.
Once introduced to one and all,
I felt the familiar call,
Of family and love.
Familiar things that made my heart soar above.
Later that day,
In the sun’s dwindling rays
We sat by the fire.
I made it higher.
Talk to talk.
People walk.
People sit around
Or fling horseshoes on the ground.
It became a day that was fun
Under God’s sun.
I got to know some new faces.
And some good food I got to taste.
