Do you feel like you're alone,
feeling like you're the only one?
Friend, He did, too...
He was always misunderstood;
His words bounced off much like wood.
Not much different than you.
My good friend, can't you see?
He felt it all, like you and me.
Human as you and I.
Though He came from somewhere else.
He became our living Help.
It's enough to make one cry.
No one dared to stand with Him,
they all seemed so very dim.
Even those He had chose.
Not one shared with Him His vision,
what became the Great Commission.
It seemed so much like they had froze.
The One who's not like any man,
because He is the great I Am,
came to be like us.
It must have seemed He didn't belong,
and being God He felt it strong
To feel it we'd be dust.
I believe He knows what you're feeling,
even when your heart is reeling.
As God He's not above you.
So why did He even come here?
To hold your pain so very near;
it seems He really loves you.
He wanted to endure what you go through,
for that's what it means to be like you;
both the joy and pain.
So you now have this point of reference
in the One who's more than reverent
with the Name above all names.
He loves so those He made;
so He came that they'd be saved
and lived the Life for them.
We love what we want to be;
so did Jesus, don't you see?
and like us He died in sin.
We love those we'd like to be,
for love He wanted to be you and me,
and so came back from the dead.
Even now He's much like us,
if we rose up from the dust.
Don't just know this in your head.
