Do you have a reason to pray in your life? a reason to go to God and open your heart to Him?
Seeing the chaos the world is in and the sorrow and misery that covers the globe, I do feel we have a good reason to bow down in prayer to God, to ask Him for peace, to ask Him for sense to prevail the hearts and minds of men so that we may exhibit kindness and Godly love towards each other.
" For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ," Ephesians 3:14(NKJV)
Paul had a reason to pray and it was this....
" that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and heightó to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:16-19(NKJV)
it may seem to be a long wish, but its worth reading and understanding.
right now we know the sorrow and feel and understand the pain that comes from it,
yet there is something else which is contrary to this, 'the peace of God that surpasses all understaning' including our own.
do we not wish to receive this peace? do we not wish to sit down and actually rest when the fact is that even though we sit down to relax,
we are troubled by millions of worries, anxieties and fears within.
Dear One!! ! such peace is beyond our reach to obtain by our own strength, we can only receive it from God after we have humbled ourselves in prayer.
If we have a family, we have a reason to pray, if a society, we have have a reason to pray, if a country to dwell in, we need to pray for the blessedness of our country and more importantly we need to pray for ourselves so that every day we may be victorious and overcome every temptation in our life.
We do have a good reason to pray for and if we do not pray, we are refusing ourselves, our family, our society and our country the peace that comes only from the Lord God Jesus Christ.
He Who is 'The Prince of peace' invites us today to receive it from Him in earnest prayer.
