Lord Jesus Christ,
You spent your first night on earth in a manger.
In the days of Your earthly service You said
“Foxes have their holes, and the birds of the air have nests,
but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
Today, You intercede day and night for Your people
before the Throne of the Most High.
Hear our prayers for our brothers and sisters
who have been driven from their earthly homes,
stripped of their worldly goods,
and forced to flee for their lives.
Be their Rock when all else has failed,
their Shelter when all others have been taken from them.
Be the Bread of Life to them and to us,
for neither they nor we can live by earthly bread alone.
Feed us with the words which You have brought us from the Father,
and lead us all, strangers and pilgrims as we are, to our true Home with You. Amen.
