Praying about the work of Faith with Power

Paul wrote a Prayer or several Prayers in each of his 14 Letters in the New Testament. Each Prayer that Paul wrote targeted an area or areas that he wanted God to Bless that particular Church or Body of Believers with. The reason that Paul wrote about how he Prayed for that Church is to send a clear message of;

1. What he Prayed for in detail.
2. And that the Church may also continue to Pray the same Prayers.
3. Then make the adjustments necessary to be in a Spiritual position to receive the answers to those Prayers and apply themselves accordingly to live out THE WORD OF FAITH.
4. Finally, so we (TODAY) may also catch the Revelation of those Prayers and apply them as well.

So what did Paul Pray—when it came to THE WORK OF FAITH WITH POWER?
Paul wrote, therefore we also PRAY always for you that our God would count you worthy of this Calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of HIS goodness and THE WORK OF FAITH WITH POWER, (v. 11)

That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in HIM, according to the GRACE of our God and the LORD JESUS CHRIST (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 NKJV)

Outlining the Prayer

1. Paul Prayed always—that means several times about the same request for the Church at Thessalonica.
2. That God would count them Worthy of this CALLING.
3. And that GOD may fulfill ALL the GOOD PLEASURE of HIS GOODNESS.
5. So that Jesus may be Glorified thru us.
6. According to the GRACE OF GOD and THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

We must be persistent in our Prayer. Being persistent is different then be repetitious. Persistence will remind GOD—LORD JESUS, I Prayed about YOU counting me Worthy of this CALLING you have on my life. And that YOU fulfill all YOUR GOODNESS so I may be able to tap into a new Level of the WORK OF FAITH WITH POWER to be an effective servant on earth in the Kingdom of GOD. So I may Glorify YOU.

When we Pray like this, from this approach, it will move us away from being repetitious. Many believers are stuck on the Our Father Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV; because they don’t know any better. However, we can rearrange THE OUR FATHER PRAYER as well, so we may not be repetitious. Consider how I rearranged this Prayer, and we can then redo THE OUR FATHER PRAYER. So we won’t be repetitious like Jesus said (Matthew 6:5-8 NKJV)

Obedience vs. Power Hungry

When Ministers Preach or Teach about obtaining the Power of God. You will always be brought to question by Intellectual Ministers who shy away or who pretend to be smarter than you, because they graduated from Bible College. They will say that Praying such a Prayer is selfish and Unbiblical. Well, for starters Paul Prayed it. Secondly, Paul expected these believers at Thessalonica to follow his example of Prayer and go on to teach the next generation to Pray likewise. Then we are to learn and Pray this Prayer as well.

So then, it’s out of OBEDIENCE to the WORD OF GOD that Paul gave us instructions of How-to-Pray! It is not a selfish Prayer asking for God’s Goodness to be released and HIS BLESSING of THE WORK OF FAITH WITH POWER TO BE INCREASED IN OUR LIVES. Why? It’s a sincere request so we may GLORIFY GOD.

Paul said, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be GLORIFIED in you, and you in HIM, according to the Grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. (2 Thessalonians 1:12 NKJV)

Everything we do as Christians is to GLORIFY GOD THE FATHER and THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. Including operating on the 4th Dimension of FAITH AND GRACE BY THE POWER OF GOD. This is what Paul was referring too. This was Paul’s aim for Praying this Prayer for them that has a present application for us today.

You see, when Paul wrote to Timothy he said that in the last days we will bump into powerless intellectual Theologians. Paul wrote, For men will be…head strong, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV) Note: I purposely skipped a lot of other negative attitudes that men will have in the last days and only pointed out the traits that are commonly demonstrated by so-called Bible scholars who oppose Ministers who operate in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Many Bible scholars struggle with Miracles, Signs and Wonders, because they allow the intelligence factor to block any Spiritual Revelation that can be received by the Holy Spirit’s ability to impart it to them. They haven’t learned that in their College Curriculum. Like Nicodemus and Apollos, they had the intellect. Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be Born-again in order for him to understand how HE operated with many Signs and Wonders. Apollos only knew but so much Doctrine—but Priscilla and Aquila reinstructed Apollos and he was Born-again and then moved on to be a greater Bible Teacher and he taught in most of the Churches that Paul established. This is how it’s to be done. If you’re a Theologian whose having trouble tapping into the Supernatural. Be HUMBLE like Apollos and Nicodemus—because they represent Theologians who were able to tap into the POWER OF GOD.

1. You must be Born-again.
2. You must be Baptized in Water.
3. You must be Baptized in the Holy Spirit.
4. You must be Anointed for Service.
5. This is called the Divine Protocol for becoming a full-fledged Christian. Book of Acts Style!

The idea is that we must continue to grow from FAITH TO FAITH. Apollos did and so did Nicodemus. And I started this teaching with Paul and the Prayer that he made for the Christians at Thessalonica. So they may receive the ALL THE GOODNES OF GOD AND THE WORK OF FAITH WITH POWER TO BE EFFECTIVE SERVANTS ON EARTH IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD. SO THEY MAY GLORIFY GOD AND THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! Make this your Prayer Today! Amen.
