The criteria for us to be born again is not discretionary. It is a condition we must all fulfil if we are to see and enter the eternal kingdom of God. There are no such thing as a 'non born again' Christian. You are only a genuine Christian because you have become born again through Christ.
Going to a Church considered as a Church for 'born again' people does not mean you are born again. You are only born again if you have been newly conceived by the Spirit of God, blood washed by the blood of His holy Lamb and fully cleansed from your sins by His living water of life. You cannot be genuinely born again and continue to live the same sinful lifestyle you were living before you claim to be born again. If you are truly born again, it will be evidenced by your will and desire to be sin free, walk in obedience toward God and be in alignment with His holy and perfect will for your life (Romans chapter 6).
Basically, you cannot say you are born again if you see nothing wrong with continuing in doing the sinful things you were doing before you claim to be born again. When you are born again you have a living conscience. And in your living conscience, you will not pursue your old sinful lifestyle because you will have understanding of the fact that, the wages of sin remains death therefore, it is not at all in the interest of your soul for you to continually live in sin (Romans 6:23). When you are born again, you will understand that God is really the true Judge of all. Therefore, you will not hide in the closet and commit sin whilst hypocritically playing the role of 'holier than thou' in the public human arena. Man of course can be fooled. But God cannot be fooled or mocked. And if you are truly born again and as such a genuine new creature in Christ, you will walk in the obedience manner of Christ to the glory of God. You will be repentant at will and not continue to do the things you use to do whilst you were dead in sin now that you claim to be born again and alive in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).
We all started our journey in this life as sinners (Romans 3:20-31). But we must end it as saints in order to enter the eternal life kingdom of God. Jesus Christ as both blood of atonement and living water is our only means of becoming born again by the Spirit of God. He is as Person of God revealed in the flesh the only way of entering in into the eternal kingdom of God (John 14:6). We must undergo God's preordained order of new birth through Christ in order to become awoken from the spiritual death suffered by mankind in the first Adam (1 Corinthians 15:18-58). We need to surrender our life to Christ who is life and the Resurrection itself in order for us to overcome sin, death and have eternal life of peace, rest and joy in God's kingdom (John 12:25-26).
Jesus as our LORD and Saviour did not come to the earth to set up a worldly religion. He came to salvage our souls from sins by paying the price for the consequences of our sins, which is death through His very own death on the cross of Calvary. Sin is a crime against God's holy order. The penalty for sin remains eternal death of the soul and spirit man (Romans 6:23).
As human beings we are spirit beings. Therefore whether we are in the real sense dead or alive is a spiritual matter. There is death after the physical death and there life after the physical death. The only way of avoiding eternal spiritual death after physical death is by obeying God's Word. Our only means of avoiding eternal death is Christ Jesus. We need to be fully cleansed from sins by the atonement and remission blood of Christ who is the holy Lamb of God (John 1:29). It is only through Christ's cleansing blood as God's foreordained holy Lamb, that we will be fully cleansed from sins and become approved by God to enter into an eternal life relationship with Him.
Jesus is not just a man or one of the prophets. He is the remission holy Lamb of God. And it is only through Him that we can overcome sin and death (Revelation 12:11). God is a holy God. And God as a holy God requires us to be holy just as He is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16). This of course is a criteria no man is able to meet outside of God who is HOLINESS in itself.
Jesus Christ as the holy Lamb of God is God's approved order of atonement for our sins. Therefore, it is only through the blood of Christ Jesus that we can meet God's holiness criteria. And through holiness in Christ, be an acceptable holy and living sacrifice unto God our Father. We need to surrender our lives to Christ to be fully cleansed from sins and be born again in order for us to acquire His sonship status (John 1:12). It is only through sonship in Christ that we will see the kingdom of God, enter in and inherit His eternal life kingdom everlastingly as joint-heirs with Christ Jesus (John 3:16, Romans 8:14-17).
The written Word of God in the Bible is God's divine principles of life. And as divine principle of life, it is only by His own direct revelation that we can begin to understand and make sense of it. We need to have revelation of the fact that religion does not save and can never save us. We need to have revelation of the fact that only Christ can save and deliver us from eternal damnation of hell fire (Acts 4:10-12). We need to have revelation of the fact that salvation is not through our own considered good works or good deeds. We need to have revelation of the fact that salvation is only possible through God's own demonstrated graceful love for us and finished works of righteousness in the form and Person of Christ Jesus (John 3:16-17, 1 John 3:16).
Our journey of revelation will only begin when we obey God's Word and enter into His Word made flesh. Outside of God's Word, God's spiritual order of life and divine principles will sound like mumbo jumbo and will not make any sense to us whatsoever. God's Word is life and truth. And it is only by His Word of truth and life that we can become permanently set free from lies and eternal damnation of death. God's Word made flesh is Christ Jesus (John 1:1-14). And it is only through Christ Jesus as God's Word and Truth made flesh that salvation from sins and eternal death is possible (John 14:6, Acts 4:12).
The Gospel is called Good News simply because is all about news of the fact that God has made it possible for us to to have resurrection from death and reconcile to His Holy Spirit of life through His demonstrated love for us in the Person of Christ (John 3:16-17, 1 John 4:8-11). And it is only by embracing this Good News of Christ as God's love revealed, that we will be set free from bondage of sin and enter into a peaceful relationship with God our Creator and Maker. Christ as God's love revealed is the Resurrection and life itself (John 11:25). And it is only by surrendering our all to Him as our LORD and Saviour that the mysteries of Godliness we begin to make perfect sense to us (1 Timothy 3:16).
If you are yet to be born again, you need to do so now in order to avoid the eternal damnation consequences of sins. New birth in Christ will be possible for you today in Jesus name if you simply say this words of prayers humbly and in heart and mind of total surrender to Christ Jesus:
LORD Jesus, I come before You today to confess my sins and to accept You as my personal LORD and Saviour. I believe You are the only begotten Son of God and that You died for me on the cross of Calvary and, that You resurrected on the third day as life and the Resurrection itself. I surrender my all to You today and I ask that You fully cleanse me from sins and make me to become born again in You. Afford me Your sonship status and reconcile me LORD, to the Holy Spirit of the Father. Make me perfect in You so I can become an acceptable living sacrifice unto You the One and only Triune God: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
"There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth:so is every one that is born of the Spirit".
