I remember when I was in college, my roomates and I used to go to the club. No, I have not always been saved. Like most college students, we were not bad girls. We did not use drugs, we went to class, and we didn't drink until the enemy used that trick of the world to briefly capture us. We believed that those clubs and college dances were all that and a bag of chips.
Now that I am no longer walking in darkness, I know that "there ain't no party like a Holy Ghost party, 'cause a Holy Ghost party don't stop." I have been delivered from going to the clubs and parties and I don't even miss it. If I were to go to a club today, I would probably fall asleep.
I believe in showing reverence to God, but once the spirit hits you, you are taken from yourself. Some Christians that used to go to the clubs, are now matchbox saints. They don't get up until the drums, music, or praise teams light them up. Either way, once the spirit starts moving and people begin to praise God for who He is, it's a real party. It's a party in the spirit. I believe there can be such a thing as a Godly party. Some people respond to different things. As Christians, we have to meet them where they are to reach them. My father is a preacher. I grew up hearing him say "people go to a baseball or basketball game and they jump up and shout, but when they go to church, you can hardly hear a word out of them. This needs to change in these last days.
