Lofty and majestic
Without a care of where the wind
Will carry me,
I fly effortlessly over the craggy cliffs and treetops.
With an ever-watchful eye,
I intently survey the land and sea
Looking for food to sustain my young.
The breadth of my wing span is great,
Impressive in my very presence;
I protect my young from danger
Feeding and nurturing my own
Amid the branches
Of the tallest trees.
When my eaglets' time of nurturing has passed,
They leave the safety of the nest
For the last time,
Searching for a mate;
And the cycle of life goes on once more.
O, my Father,
You are greater than the mighty eagle!
Powerful and steadfast,
Nurturing and true.
You gather Your chicks together
Under Your wing where we find refuge
Until we have been weaned and stand as mature.
You know Your own;
We are sealed
By the precious blood
Of Your son, Jesus Christ,
The first-born of many brethren.
We look to You, Lord
For strength, courage,
And the faith to stand for what is true,
What is right in Your sight.
