“So Hagar called the Lord, “the God who sees me” for she said, “Now I have seen Him who looks after me. (Genesis 16:13)”.
“O Lord, you have searched me and known me... even the darkness is not dark to You, the night is bright as day for darkness is as light to You... Your eyes saw my unformed substance – in Your book all my days were written down when as yet there were none of them... (Psalm 139)”.
How often have each of us felt over-looked and unnoticed by those around us, even those who are closest to us? But even if they don't see us, this is never true of God. He is able to give His full undivided attention to each of those who are His for every moment of their lives.
Once when I was feeling invisible I felt the Lord say to me: “Beloved, though you often feel ignored and over-looked by those around you, I want you to remember that I am always thinking about you and My thoughts of you are filled with unfathomable love. My eyes are always on you, My ears ever open to your cries – indeed I eagerly wait for your face to turn to Mine and your voice to reach My ears. You are Mine and I delight in you. Though at times you feel completely alone and abandoned, remember that I am with you and have promised to never leave you. You do not have to vie for My attention and affection. You don't have to force Me to spend time with you. On the contrary, I am always holding out My hands to you ready to receive you with your praises or pain, longing to fill you with the joy of My presence. So come and rest in My arms. I love you. ~Jesus”
My prayer: “Thank You God that You see me and are always with me! How it comforts me to know that I am never really alone and that nothing I feel, say, or do ever goes unnoticed by You.”
I encourage you to read the full context of the passage in Genesis and all of Psalm 139
