Sitting on the premises I will not move
Though the Spirit calls me I’m am in the groove
And though my faith I know my actions will prove
I’m still sitting on the premises of God
Sitting on the premises I will not budge
Though you ask forgiveness, I’ll still hold a grudge
And when it comes to giving in I just might fudge
I’m sitting on the premises of God
Sitting on the premises I’m here to stay
I really didn’t come to worship sing or pray
I figure Sundays just like any other day
So I’m sitting on the premises of God
Sitting on the premises I’m here to say:
“Though you wanna change it,
We’ve always done it this way”
It really doesn’t matter how many people
You sway
I’m still sitting on the premises of God
Sitting on the premises but just for awhile
For if the pastor goes overtime I’ll loose my smile
And when it comes to getting involved
That’s just not my style
So I’m sitting on the premises of God
Sitting on the premises again today
For once I got involved but never got no pay
And what the heck I’m going to heaven anyway
So I’m sitting on the premises of God
