What are we doing with the opportunities we have been given? We can do the right things.
Deuteronomy 6:25 and it shall be our righteousness if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God as he has commanded us. We have a good chance or occasion to act to the circumstances presented to move in a favorable position toward God by fulfilling his purpose to advance ourselves in his Kingdom by doing the right things.
We have the opportunity to walk upright. We are given the opportunity to work righteousness rather than do wrong. We have the opportunity every day to speak the truth; why do we lie. We back bite our neighbors, speaking evil when we donít have to do evil.
Jeremiah 8:20 the harvest is past, the summer is ended and we are not saved.
In Jeremiahís day the people missed the opportunity to know God in a significant way. But now that Jesus has come, whatís our excuse? There is no more excuses to sin. We miss the opportunity now, the chance to accept the salvation afforded us by Christ. The time has come when men will not hear God or man. Jesus said in Matthew 10:14 and whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or City, shake off the dust from your feet.
We have the opportunity to do right. To them that knows to do right and donít do it; it is sin. Righteousness of necessity and always the basis of the idea of righteousness is conformity to ta a standard or perfection. We have the same message; itís just a different time. As an attribute of God it signifies holiness, justice and right doing. When applied to man righteousness signifies the possession of the Christian virtues, faith, hope, and charity and a life that conforms to the Divine Law. Because Abraham believed God it was counted to him as righteousness. We canít miss an opportunity with God!
David said in Psalm 24:4 in answer to the question who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart and who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully shall ascend unto the Lord and stand in his Holy place. We have the opportunity to access God, keep Godís way, do his Will, and live his Word. The way is given and the opportunity to follow the Way unto perfection is in our hands.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing but death. The righteousness of the perfect directs his way and delivers the upright and his reward is sure. We have the opportunity to choose the way of life or death; we choose to do good or evil. We choose to be honest and keep a good heart toward God. We choose to hear the Word, keep it and bring forth good fruit unto the Lord. What are we doing with the opportunity we have been given to choose?
John 3:21 but he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest; that they are wrought in God. He that has received his testimony has set to his seal that God is true.
Are we missing the opportunity to have God as ours? Are we missing the opportunity to yield ourselves to God? Are we giving him all of us, mind, body, soul, heart, and spirit? We must even yield all of our members holy to Him, to righteousness unto holiness. We grow as we come to know the more of God, but we must take the opportunity to learn of God that he be fulfilled in us that we walk not after the flesh, but the Spirit.
I Corinthians 12:3 no man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost.
God is true and righteous. We must take the opportunity to be like Him. Paul said in II Corinthians 5:17 therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.
We must take the opportunity to let God do a new thing in us It will help us to flee youthful lust; follow whatís right, have faith in God, love one another like God said love, follow peace with all men and come together with our brothers and sisters in Christ that we call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
We have the opportunity to finish our course with God; we can obtain a crown in glory, just keep living Godís way pure and undefiled before Him and man. We have the opportunity to keep ourselves unspotted from the world. We donít have to dibble and dabble in and out of sin. We can say no! Jesus lived a sinless life and if we know that and belie e it we can do it too if we are born again like Him. He died that we would have an opportunity to choose. All that will take the opportunity afforded us to do right is righteous in Christ; for it is his righteousness that helps us not to commit sin no more.
An opportunity is knocking on our door, what are we going to do with it? Will we choose the world that is the sphere of evil or will we choose Christ the sphere of good and righteousness? The world lies under divine condemnation, but Christ is under the Divine Promise of eternal life. The world is in bondage to Satan with a sure promise of hell for eternity that will pass away. Christ has come that we might have life and that we have it more abundantly. Christ brings manís soul back to God; donít you want God?
The opportunity is there; what are we doing with it? We leave life for a lifeless situation. The harvest is past, the time for gathering is now; we need to get all of the Word we can and can all we get in the confines of our hearts; for the time will come that the Word will try to be taken away from us.
The enemy tries to steal the opportunity to steal the Word and every godly thing from us. He does this through people, mighty men whose soul he has already stolen and destroyed except they repent and come to Christ. The summer has ended, the sun no longer shine, the rain comes, the storms come and sin reigns; what are we going to do? We are not saved; Jesus is inviting us to come! We can live full of Godís righteousness; his holiness.
