For Best Results Follow Instructions

I Kings 18:41-46 Elijah said unto Ahab, get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knee, and said to his servant, go up now, look toward the sea and he went up and looked and said, there is nothing. And he said, go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, behold there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a manís hand. And he said go up, say unto Ahab, prepare thy chariot and get thee down that the rain stop thee not. And it came to pass in the mean while that the Heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain and Ahab rode and went to Jezreel; and the hand of the Lord was on Elijah and he girded up his loins and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Kings contains an account of Israelís spiritual conduct as Godís covenant people. There deeds were not as spiritually faithful and pure as God had called them to be. There standards werenít kept as God had commanded them. They repeatedly failed God spiritually, committed spiritual whoredom, neglected the commands God set forth and just utterly refused to obey the men of God; the true Prophets.

We must be careful of what we are faithful to. We may be controlled by the influence of the Devil. How can we be a team player? Whether a ball player plays one inning, there presence there on the sideline says they are on the team. Whether the team wins the game or loses they on the sidelines win or lose. If we are a member of Living Word church then we should be a lively, vibrant participant in all that goes on to make it successful. We must make those sacrifices needed for the work of God to be done according to His Will.

God commands us to follow his orders, his Will, his Way and his Word. God has order for everything related to mankind; the home, church, family and workplace.

We never should under mind those in authority to other team members. Why would a husband or wife under mind the other when it will affect both of them? Why cut your own nose off? The good always suffer for the bad. We donít make things hard for another team member. If we do we donít appreciate them. Things done under mindedly will at some point come to the light. Appreciate what God has given us to do, do your job and help someone else along the way.

Be faithful to the call which we have been called to; be faithful to God and His Church. Be faithful to one another; donít form opinions about things you have no control over. Faithfulness to the wrong things will catch us up in a mess and we will wonder how we got there. Make the adjustment needed. Elijah received of God, relayed the instructions given him to his servants; they were specific instructions. Before he gave Godís instructions he humbled himself before the Lord. We canít receive anything from God if we are not humbled in his sight. We must change our position and posture to one that reverence God.

These were the instructions Elijah gave:

1. Get thee up, arise. Arise means to get up, move upward, ascending, to come into being, originate, to result, issue or proceed. The first thing he had to do was simply obey instructions to get any result; he had to move into action.
2. Then he said to go up now
3. He told them to look toward the sea. Sometime you have the vision, but you canít see clear until all the pieces are there. Sometime youíve got to go back and look again; only after he had followed the instructions given him to obeying the man of God did something happen. God could have moved the first time, because he is God and can do what he please, but the significance here is to obey and follow through all the instructions. When they looked the seventh time something happened; things changed, conditions changed. With obedience come results, change. God did something in the atmosphere that gave them what they needed.
4. Our blessings is in the atmosphere and all we need God to do is see our obedience and he will shake his lap and loose what we need into being. Obey God and all he has commanded us to do. For best results follow instructions specifically. God rained the rain down from Heaven upon them and he will do it for us also.

God gives us guidelines for living. III John 2, he wishes us to prosper and be in health even as our soul prosper in all respects; mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Be Holy! Leviticus 11:44 reverence Him as Lord, sanctify our self. He told us to do this; separate ourselves from the world and its ways, purge our self of us, clean up our lives, take a spiritual laxative that we get rid of the (I) in us. God said bring the tithe in the storehouse (Malachi 3:8). How can we forget to give Him back a portion of what He has given to us? Look within ourselves, do the investigation, discuss and reason with ourselves; do I want all that God has for me or not? For best results follow instruction in all areas of life. Itís our choice. The leader is here to rebuke, reprove, correct and to instruct us but itís up to us to obey God.

God gave Ezekiel instructions to obey in Ezekiel 2:6-8 and thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions; be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house, and thou shall speak my words unto them, whether they will hear or whether they will forbear; for they are most rebellious. But thou son of man, hear what I say unto thee; be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house; open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

All of Godís promises in His Word are for us but we have to obey to get them. He will bless us in spite of what we have done when we come to Him and repent.

II Chronicle 7:14 tells us that we have to humble ourselves, pray, seek, turn, hear, forgive, and God will heal. Many people have a strong will not to obey anybody especially God but they get tired of being chastised; and they still wonít change. Let set things right with God, man and one another. We can be made whole. God wants us to be whole, one mind, one body, soul and spirit or our entire being, being made whole. Itís in our control, our destiny. It hinges upon our willingness to follow after God and obey. For best results follow instructions. We have a responsibility to know what to do, how, when, where to do it and who we do it with; for then we will have received Godís wisdom. For best results follow instruction.

God has a set order we must follow. Order, what is meant by order? Order means after the manner of in this text the sequence or arrangement of a thing; fixed or definite plan or system after a particular trait or quality. Itís a group of persons constituting an association formed for some special purpose in its right place and functioning properly as back by authority. God has given man (us) an established method of conduct in life and worship he expects us to follow. We have a proper sequence to things in our lives. We must follow the acceptable standard God has set for each of us. We must organize our lives that we line up to his Word, His Will and Way. Jesus came to fulfill Godís Will.

God orders manís steps according to David in Psalm 37:23, the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delights in His way. Its not grievous for the believer to do those things that please God. God has commanded that we keep his precepts daily, diligently. Our ways must be directed to keep Godís statues. We must respect all the Commandments in order; we will praise Him with uprightness of heart.

Its time to cleanse our ways, set our hearts back to God, finding his ordained order and walk therein. Godís order is His doing and is marvelous. God has order for all of us no matter what we are. The birds and other animals have order they follow too! Things happen in the sky and universe in a sequential order from the beginning. The earth does what God ordained it to do in his order and at his Word. Everything in the earth obeys God except man that He made in his image.

We are to support the leaders and the Church and its vision, teach good things, walk in the realm of faith and peace and submit to leadership and authority. We are called to be exemplary in our walk through out life. God has order and does not deviate from it. He doesnít turn aside from his Word as we do. He doesnít turn away from the course he set for us, so we must line ourselves up to him, his directions, standard, doctrines, and Word.
