The Vessel Of God

A vessel is a person thought of as being the receiver or repository of some spirit or influence. The vessel we are talking about is a person; a thinking intelligent being that have reason and reflection, and can consider itself as itself. In Scripture we are talking about an individual.

Matthew 22:14, for many are called, but few are chosen.

Called, Jesus called us in Matthew 28:19-20 to an assignment to be soul winners. He assigns us to have a Spirit of Evangelism. He said go ye therefore so we know we have to go do something; go and teach, teaching all nations he said.

As vessels of God we do and produce as well as we birth forth. We take it and make it. When a woman is delivered of a child she has birth forth a soul into the world. She have had some pain and some have more pain than others but when she sees the product of her pain; a baby boy or girl she forgets the pain. Jesus took a lot of pain to birth us forth back into the hands of God. When he see a soul being saved; the product of his pain Heaven rejoices. God too has given each of us a work; a part of Kingdom work. Our challenge is being able to hear from God to find out what he has called us to do and knowing how to get it done.

Do we the vessels of God know our God given abilities and talents?

Ephesians 4:11-12 God gave some Apostles, and some Prophets, and some Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers for the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

God chose men before us that he gave the work to:

Adam Ė to dress the Garden and keep it ; Genesis 2:15
Noah Ė to build an Ark to save and protect man from the flood that was coming to destroy the earth because of the wickedness man did in it; Genesis 6:7-22.
Abraham Ė was called to be the father of the faith; Genesis 17:
Moses Ė chosen to lead Godís people out of Egypt. Exodus 3:2-10
Joshua Ė called to take the Israelites to the land of promise. Numbers 27:16-23

We too as the vessels of God carry an assignment. We must know and understand what it is. Since we have been called to be vessels of God that win souls through the Spirit of Evangelism; we possess it but do we use it? Do we go therefore and do something with what we have been taught or do we sit in the four corners of our place of spiritual and natural worship and be satisfied with being saved alone? Jesus said we should learn of Him and teach others the Holy way that they be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost which is Godís order of Baptism. We are to teach new converts to observe all things whatsoever He have commanded us and lo He is with us always, even until the end of the world.

As vessels of God we need to be anointed and be in our anointed place of our calling/ our God given place. James 1:5, if any lack knowledge let them ask of God. We must have communion with God and ask God for knowledge that knows what we need. We must prepare, study, be in position to hear from God and be instructional so God can use us and teach us.

Matthew 16:15-18 He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. We are to pick up the knowledge of Jesus Christ as he told Peter to preach and build the house. We must seek God for his wisdom, for understanding and knowledge. God gives us clarity in our assignment not only with Peter but with Paul as in Acts 9:11-16. God sent Paul to Ananais and spoke also to Ananais concerning Paulís coming that he would receive Paul whom he had previously been afraid of.

Paul was a vessel chosen to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles. A vessel of God should grow to Spiritual Maturity and donít allow Satan to get us distracted. Satanís job is and always will be to stop our walk with God. Moses got distracted and messed up. God told Moses in Numbers 20:7-12 to take the rod he held in his hand, get the assembly together and speak to the rock before their eyes and receive water but Moses being angry with the people smote the rock instead. Because the people distracted him he acted out of order and offended God. Many times because of people thatís not willing to obey God will draw us off the beacon path too. Because of Moses act he missed the promise land.

The vessel of God should bring to completion their God given call that they have been chosen to do. Submit to God, draw nigh to him, sanctity yourself, purity your heart, be afflicted, mourn, laugh, and humble yourself. What have God told us to do that we are not doing? In the sight of God we must stay in our lane, stay in position, and know what we are called to do.
II Corinthians 8:21 providing for honest things not only in the sight of the Lord but also in the sight of men. We are precious vessels of God living to live again. There is a judgment coming and in that day we will be found doing all manner of unrighteousness. A false balance is abomination to the Lord but a just weight is Godís delight.

When we are vessels of God living to live again we must be honest; it is a virtue. They that deal in the truth is of the Lord but lying lips are abomination to the Lord. We are living here in the earth now to live again. He that walk righteously and speaks upright despises the gain of oppressions, shakes their hands from holding bribes, stops their ears from hearing of blood and shuts their eyes from seeing evil that they may dwell in Heaven with God. If we hope to live in Heaven, we must keep His Commandments. We love God but we have other Godís before Him; that wonít work. God will destroy anything or anybody we put before Him for we make them or it an idol.

We donít commit adultery, do not kill, will not steal, do not bear false witness or defraud one another when we walk as true vessels of God. Luke 6:31 says as we would that we should do to us, we should do to them likewise. We are to exercise ourselves to always have a conscience, void of offence toward God and man. If we are to be received as a vessel of God it will be found that we have defrauded no man, corrupted no man and defrauded none. A vessel of God runs after the truth and that which is just and honest.

A vessel of God studies to be quiet and to do their own business and to work with their own hands. We must be willing to live honestly and have a good conscience. God looks for us to be a people of integrity; say what you mean and mean what you say. God will judge us according to his righteousness working in us as we seek for the more knowledge from God. We must bind mercy and truth about our neck; write them upon the table of our heart.

A vessel of God grows into Godís favor and good understanding. Our ways are directed by his perfect righteousness. Because we are true God is pleased. As vessels of God we have no time to be unstable; for no man can serve two masters. We canít be carried about with strange doctrines but when we come asking something of God we must first believe Him for what we are asking. A vessel of God is preserved in the faith of Christ Jesus. We are not unstable; a double minded man is unstable in all his ways. The vessel of God doesnít have eyes full of adultery that they canít cease from sin. They donít practice hypocrisy for we donít live according to the flesh or make promises for it although we live in the flesh.

We the vessels of God are earthen vessels who mind earthly things because we want what we can see. We are sensual according to James 3:15 and seek for treasures upon earth (Hebrews 11:13) that seeks for a new Heaven and a new Earth but hold the tradition of men. Matthew 26:41 tells us that the flesh is weak. Paul warns us in Galatians 5:17 about our lusting flesh. He holds us in Philippians 3:3 that we should not put confidence in our flesh; esteeming ourselves more highly than we ought. The flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh. They are contrary the one to the other so that means we canít do the things we want to do. John 17:2 after Jesus prayed to His Father, glorify thy Son that glorifies Him that had given him power over all flesh that He should give eternal life to all that would follow Him.

To become that true vessel of God we must flee youthful lusts (II Timothy 2:22). If we sow to the flesh (Galatians 6:8) we will of the flesh reap corruption, but if we sow to the Spirit we shall of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Peter in I Peter 2:11 beseech us as strangers and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which wars against the soul. Timothy in II Timothy 3:14 also warned that we would be lovers of pleasure more than God in the perilous last times. If we are to appear with God (Colossians 3:4) in Glory we are to be dead to the flesh and our life is hid in Christ. This Glory is within, so we must mortify our members which are upon the earth. If we do this we will believe on Christ and have unspeakable joy and the fullness of Glory! We live to live again!

In the earth man is dust (Genesis 2:7); and the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed in his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Now if God gave man the breath that made him come alive, he can also take his breath back. What was this breath? Godís own Spirit, the Holy Ghost. We are in this world but not of it. God never intended that we perish in the earth. He made us to be that created sanctified being He made and gave dominion to. So how did we become sub-servant to sin? Man failed to do what God said not to do. We were living but now we have to live to live again.

Genesis 3:3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the Garden God hath said ďye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch, let e dieĒ. We were spiritual beings in earthen vessels living on to give God Glory. But because we let the enemy (Satan) of our soul talk to us, we touched that which was forbidden. Not only did we touch it, we also ate off the forbidden fruit. Now we have an advocate, Jesus Christ that came to bring man back in right relationship with the Father. Because He came we can be born again of the Spirit and live that Spiritual life once again without excuses.

Salvation is an inside job; the dust will return to the earth from whence it came (Ecclesiastes 12:7), as it were and the Spirit shall return to God that gave it. The life we will live is one with Christ now and in the new Heaven and new Earth. John 10:9-10 Jesus said I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture; the thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Satan set out to steal our joy, kill our peace, and destroy our souls in hell; but thank God for Jesus that came to give us life again. We can live a more spiritually abundant life in Christ where we donít have to poison our bodies with the rudiments of this world. We are living to live again!

We are the vessels of God and when the fullness of time comes that Jesus after the separation of the wheat and tare we will live again after Godís order. The vessels of God are living now to live again later with Him. The end will come (Philippians 3:9) and we will through faith in Christ have the opportunity to be with Godí vessels of honor. Paul said it like this in I Peter 1:9 receiving the end of your faith; even the salvation of your souls. Godís grace is there for us but its not to be taken lightly or abused if we expect to live again. We must be vessels of God that will be sober and watch; for the end of all things will come; the end being at hand. The Gospel is preached to all men that we may be raise up together to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. It is by grace; the grace given Him by God that we too can come to the throne of Grace.

The vessel of God is living now to live again so we canít live after the flesh. We are to be filled with the knowledge of God and His Glory. We are to be ready for His return. We must know to look for the sign of his coming. We must know that the end will come and this world will be no more. We must not let no man deceive us, sorrow presses manís heart because we see the signs of the time is now, but we are prepared vessels. Mark 13:7 and when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled for such things must need be; but the end shall not be yet. God warns us through Mark to take heed to ourselves for we shall be delivered up to councils, be beaten, brought before councils, rulers, and Kings for Christ sake for a testimony against the perpetrator. We need to rely on the leading of the Holy Ghost.

All that have left or forsaken family, friends or houses for Christís sake shall receive a hundredfold and shall inherit everlasting life. John 3:16 clearly states that God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Everlasting life is that promise to spend eternity with God. Eternal life is a promise; Matthew 25:46 everlasting punishment or life eternal, we choose. Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. On this journey if we will be the vessel of God we must fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life.

Whereunto thou art also called and has professed a good profession before many witness, keep the Commandments dear soul until the appearing of the Lord. Obtain a good foundation in Christ that will keep us until he appear again. John 3:15 says that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life. We have to search the Scriptures for within them is eternal life found.

The vessels of God hear Godís voice for we are his sheep, the sheep of his pasture. Doing good things is not a promised eternal life; Jesus said in Matthew 19:16 answering a man concerning doing good things and eternal life that they that keep Godís Commandments is eligible for this life. Eternal life is a promise to Godís vessels; however we can miss the promise especially if we blaspheme against the Holy Ghost. We are in danger of Hellís fire.

The vessel of God seeks his answer in the Word concerning eternal life that they will not spend eternity in Hell. We must ask God what we must do to obtain eternal life. Only Christ can lead us through the Holy Ghost he gave to all that will open us and receive. The Holy Ghost is the continuator of the work of God. He is our Comforter. I Peter %:10 but the God of all Grace who hath called us unto his eternal Glory by Christ Jesus after that you have suffered a while makes you perfect, established, strengthened and settled vessels of God. God will never go back on his promises to us even eternal life. I John 2:25 and this is the promise that He hath promised us even eternal life, if we have Godís promise of eternal life dwelling in us we cannot hate our brother (I John 3:15, whoever hates his brother is a murderer and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him).

For the vessel of God believe and receive the witness of God. They also believe the witness of Christ Jesus and the witness of the Holy Ghost. St. John 5:11and this is the record that God has given to us eternal life and this life is in his Son. Jesus is knocking at our doors today; are we going to open up and welcome him in? The vessel of God has to be submitted to the one that made them who and what they are. The vessel of God has to be poured into. God wants to pour his Holy Spirit into us today. Somebody needs us to be a true vessel thatís real and radical for Christ; the souls are crying out for whatís true!

We are not who people see when they look at us. If we say we are in Christ, they look to see Christ in us. Who are we when we look in the mirror? Who we are is not what we look at in the mirror? Who we are is not what we look at in the mirror. When God told Samuel to go out and anoint David King of Israel he looked not for David but the eldest son of Jesse, Elijah. God told Samuel in I Samuel 16:7 look not on his countenance or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him, for the Lord seeth not as man sees, for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. God looks at our heart, man looks at our face that have no value; looks can be deceiving. The outward man will perish (II Corinthians 4:16); yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Vessels of God are peaceful; seeks for peace and when they obtain it they agree together with other believers to bind the spirits that roam in the earth belonging to Satan. Satan and his demons are our enemies. The true vessels of God follow peace with all men (Hebrews 12:140; not only that but they walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8).

Vessels of God know their calling and election is sure because it was foreknown of God before we were born. The vessel of God shall be found doing Godís Will to his fulfillment. Ephesians 6:6, not with eye service as men pleasers, but as the servants of Christ doing the Will of God from the heart. Everything we do for God should be from the heart. Matthew 24:46 says we are to go about doing good and not evil. We are not to be weary in well doing (Galatians 6:9). We should be willing to suffer for well doing (I Peter 3:17).

The vessel of God looks for good. A good name (Proverbs 22:1) is rather to be chosen than great riches, they give good gifts (Matthew 7:11) to their children, chooses that good part (Luke 10:42) of the walk as Mary did choose the good part to hear Jesus teaching, and we must prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2) after we have been transformed by the renewing of our minds. We have divine glorification when we present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is our reasonable service for what He has done for us. There is no greater love that will be found among men than that of God. The vessel of God makes them self available to God

The vessel of God will fight the good fight of faith according to Timothy in I Timothy 4:12. A true vessel of God is not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16) according to Paul for he knows that it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believe. The vessel of God are full of grace and truth (St John 1:14) because they beheld Godís Glory, the Glory as of the only begotten of the Father. A true vessel of God has been forgiven and forgives (Matthew 6:14) .They are forgiving (Colossians 2:13) for they are no longer dead in sin (trespasses), our heart has been stripped of all the worldly excess and we are quickened together with Him.

A true vessel of God forsakes not the Law as does the wicked that forsakes his way. God keeps the hearts and minds of those that are his (Philippians 4:7). We need to be sound in our mind according to Timothy in II Timothy 1:7, for God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. How do we do that? God said in Philippians 2:5, let this mind be in me which was also in Christ Jesus. A vessel of God produces good fruit (Galatians 5:22) and bring forth good fruit (souls) John 12:24 and Mark 4:28.

The vessel of God does not serve no one but God (Matthew 6:24) and grows up into Him (Ephesians 4:15) in all things speaks the truth in love. In grace (II Peter 3:18) the vessel of God grows and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The vessel of God doesnít harden his heart. David said in Psalm 95:8 harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness. In Proverbs 28:14 Solomon said if we harden our hearts we will fall into mischief. John 12:40 speaks in reply; Jesus answering the people that asked him questions of the Messiah; the Christ that would come as prophesied by the Prophet Isaiah; he hath blinded their eyes and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. But exhort one another daily while it is called to day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin (Hebrews 3:13). The vessel of God serves God with all their heart, with all their might (Deuteronomy 6:5) and with all their soul they love God.

The vessel of God seeks the harvest of the earth until the time to reap (Revelation 14:15). The vessel of God that reaps the harvest of God surpasses the power of the grave. Davis said in Psalm 49:15 but God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave; for he shall receive me. I Corinthians 15:35 but some man will say, how are the dead raise up? And with what body do they come? Except we die we cannot reap the harvest. The vessels of God awake to the righteousness of God and sin not because of the knowledge of God they have acquired.

The vessel of God grows in grace and they know how to come to the throne of grace. Hebrews 4:16 let us come boldly unto the throne of grace, the we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. For it is by grace that we are saved. We have his mercy; God gave his all; His Word, His Son, and His Spirit. We are living to live again. We were first spiritual then flesh was second. Now flesh is first with man and then spiritual things. Through faith in Christ and a sure trust in God, we give our lives to God that is Father of all. All things belong to Him and all things are for Him; the earth and all that dwell therein. Living to live again is up to man; itís their choice.

Who are we? Do we really know who we are?
