Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Treasure is described as a collection of valuable things or accumulated wealth.
Treasure is a good thing and we need to lay it up for use. It is a tool in our hands.
Where to lay up your treasure is what Jesus is showing us the way.

The urge to store up treasure on earth is the cause of stealing, killing and destruction in the world today. The cause of corruption in low and high places.
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. Mt 12:35

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Col 3:1-3
Beloved, If your treasure is in heaven it will flow to others and to Jesus in love and honour.
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 1 Tim 6:17
I admonish you to lay up your treasure with sincerity according to the riches you are blessed with in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
