As elementary aged school students, we listened to our teachers call the morning roll. Hearing our names called we raised our hand as high as we could reach. Loudly we replied, “Present!” Repeated present responses echoed throughout the classrooms. Only the sounds of silence followed the names of classmates that were absent. For learning purposes, presence was preferable by far.
In the presence of the LORD, we find direction and learn submission.
“Thou wilt make known to me the path of life; in Thy presence is fullness of joy; in Thy right hand there are pleasures forever (Psalms 16:11 NAS).” He is present and He is dispensing His joy. “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full (John 15:11 NAS).” Daily, He sheds light upon my path (Psalms 119:105). I find unspeakable joy in 'Jesus presence!'
