Gospel
Jesus walked the earth teaching and edifying His disciples who in turn were led to do the same for us. It is now our responsibility to preach God’s word; and in so doing will produce true enlightenment to help secure not only our place in Heaven, but others as well. I think it is imperative that we examine our own heart to determine whether or not we are being respectful to the spirit of Christ so that the truth professed to others is the same truth recorded in scripture; and that they may follow our example accordingly.
Luke 21:34-36—“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. 35 For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
Matthew 7:13-14—“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.”
God seeks those who have a holy reverence for Him and His Word; willing to diligently apply scripture to their daily living. Our Heavenly Father is the master communicator who teaches through divine communication in Word and Spirit. The New Testament is filled with parables that Jesus preached; but it is our Christian responsibility to decipher His divine messages through our unwavering faith.
“But he has now reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you have heard”—Colossians 1:22-23.
One of the key elements to life for establishing rewarding relationships is effective communication. In order for effectual communication to occur amongst brethren we must first understand and carefully listen to what God is saying. He provided us with everything we need between the pages of the Bible, but it’s up to us to receive it as spiritual nourishment for our souls through faith. God tells us to hear what He is saying, which will ultimately transition us as sanctified leaders called to effectively communicate the truth to others.
1 Thessalonians 2:13—“And so we too constantly thank God that when you received God’s message that you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human message, but as it truly is, God’s message, which is at work among you who believe."
Moses wrote in Deuteronomy 18:15, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you—from your fellow Israelites; you must listen to him.”
We not only need to adhere to the calling of God, but we also need to heed the warning about listening to false doctrine which is so prevalent in the world today; confirmed in numerous passages throughout the entire Bible. God has much to say and because He is the all-wise, sovereign God, it is imperative to not only listen carefully, but to also conform to every word written therein. As sinful people we are prone to get distracted and possibly drawn away by obstacles and temptations which lead to spiritual death. Spiritual life is awarded to those who believe and live in righteousness according to God’s Word.
Proverbs 18:2—“A fool takes no pleasure in understanding but only in disclosing what is on his mind.”
God has provided us with the Holy Spirit so that we are able to hear and comprehend His Word through prayer and faith. The Holy Spirit is our earthly gift provided to us after the Resurrection of Christ to guide and convict us for achieving righteous life.
John 14:16-17—“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes”—Romans 1:16.
“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory”—Ephesians 1:13-14.
Dear Father God,
It is my prayer that You bless all who read this message with a spirit of discernment so they will understand the gospel in the way that it was intended. I pray that they will not be deceived by their own understanding or fooled by the non-scriptural doctrine of false teachers that will cause them to fall short of receiving eternal life in Heaven. I pray for continued wisdom and strength to help encourage those who may doubt the truth of Your word, but that they are delivered and refreshed by the grace of Your love and mercy…in Jesus’ Name…Amen!
Matthew 28:19-20—“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
