One Intimate Encounter

Never again the same,
One touch, my heart transformed,
One intimate encounter,
My heart forever warmed.

Waves of love swept over me,
God knew me inside out,
He knew me, yet He loved me,
No longer room for doubt.

Conscious of my heart's desires,
Completely understood,
Seeing the deepest core of me
As no one ever could.

He knew me, Oh, He knew me,
Aware of deepest needs,
Bathed in His love I lingered,
Falling upon my knees.

Wrestling with unworthiness,
He drew me to His breast,
Assuring me of endless love,
I found eternal rest.

The sweetness of His presence,
The love in His embrace,
I whispered only, "Jesus",
Longing to see His face.

Convinced of His great love for me,
No need to even ask,
Secure, protected, I had peace
That lingers unsurpassed.

And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant..." ( Luke 1:46-48 NIV )

When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the LORD is in this place..." ( Genesis 28:16 NIV )
