life's big question

Why are we here? What is the purpose for my existence? These are two of the most common questions that people ask themselves. And it is the answer to these questions that we all spend our lives seeking to find.

So-called experts will tell us that billions and millions of years ago that nothing exploded, and that through random genetic mutations life as we know it formed. If this were the case, then that would teach us that the only purpose to life would be to live and make the most of our short existence. The only reason for us living would be whatever we could accomplish during our short life spans. It would be a life void of hope.

But because "science" tell us that this is true, people buy into this lie. Knowing that their time is short, they chase after frivolous things to make them happy. All the while ignoring the giant hole in the heart that is telling them that something big is missing.
The something missing is the key to understanding our existence. Rich people would tell you it is money, but as they gain more and more of it they never reach a place where they have enough. There is always another dollar to be made. Other people will say it is by being surrounded with as many friends and family members as possible. Love will fill the empty void of your heart. Even in that noble of a purpose, the love from other people cannot replace the missing object.

If this missing item so important to life, what is it? The question is answered with a being called God. God was the one who out of nothing spoke the universe into existence. As He created the moon and stars, telling them their purpose, God designed each one of us for a specific purpose that fits in His plan. The only way we can begin to know His plan is by us humbling ourselves and recognizing our need for God.

Look at the rest of God's creation, it screams of His existence. The birds fly about knowing of their divine purpose, same with the rest of the animal kingdom. Think about the North Star, it was made to shine brighter than the rest so it could be a guide to travellers throughout all generations. The moon was created to control the ocean tides. Everything in the universe knows and acknowledges the authority of God, therefore knowing their unique individual roles.

You and I were designed to be no different. The difference is that God gave us the ability to choose between fact and fantasy. The fact is that God created each person for a role in His grand plan, a plan we cannot understand apart from Him. We have to kneel our hearts before God's throne. Or you can choose the alternative. The fantasy that there is no god or supreme authority, and we humans evolved as cosmic accidents, leaving no meaning to life. When there is no purpose, there is no hope.
