Matthew 4:1 then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness.
Luke 4:1 and Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.
Now if Jesus the Son of God, the Word, the bread of heaven, bread of life, the bright and morning star, the beloved of God, our Savor, the head of the Church, the head of every man, heir of all things, the Holy One of God, our peace, the power of God our High Priest, the Mighty God, the living bread, the Way, the Truth and the Light had to be full of the Holy Ghost what about us? He is our Salvation, our righteousness, our Redeemer, and our Shepherd but he was full of the Ghost and was Spirit filled, Spirit led, and Spirit controlled.
What is our problem? What make us think we donít need the Holy Ghost? It was through the Holy Ghost that Jesus was conceived in the womb of Mary. The Gospels differ in the shading of the picture but they all describe Jesus as the Messiah of promise, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Savior, the Lord of Glory, the Prophet, or the King.
We know of the wonder and power of Christ. We know that he is not an invention of some man. We have witness of the confirmation of the power of the Risen Christ who lives in the hearts of man today. We worship Jesus as Lord and Savior today but how do we think we can do it without; what he didnít do without? That is being full of the Holy Ghost.
Paul said under the unction of the Holy Ghost in Ephesians 1:3-4 blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (referred to as the second Adam) according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world (Jesus the spoken Word) that we should be holy (full of the Spirit, led and controlled) and without blame before him (God the Creator) in love. Paul was born again, dead and risen with Christ, led by the Holy Ghost and controlled by God as Jesus was and we are called to be. We need the Holy Ghost and be full of Him. The Spirit penetrates the flesh not the flesh the Spirit. When the Spirit comes and convicts us we must surrender the sin and be set free. God through Christ Jesus has given us power over the flesh through the Holy Ghost; that we all should have eternal life.
The Spirit of Truth is here; He will guide us into all truth; we have a comforter today waiting on us to accept His help. He will bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever He have heard and will show us all things to come. What is there to know about God, His Word, and His Spirit that we donít already know? Or what we think we know. God is never ending to be found out. He is the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow. It will take an eternity for us to find out all of Him.
If we be quiet and listen we can learn of God. God wants us to learn of Him; acquire knowledge and watch the skill in what He did that we too can be movers and shakers of the Word.
The Spirit moves at the Word as it is spoken. Satan moves by the word spoken by man, he can no longer hear God for he tuned him out and was kicked out of heaven. Now he is moving down here in the earth, the prince of the air but we know that a prince is not king until the king dies. Satan will never be king for God is eternal.
We need Godís ability alive in us. We need his expertise; after all He is the Master Teacher. God is competent, his talents are remarkable, and He is proficient and accomplished in His Word. God wants us to be willing movers also; those that excite, propel, propose, or advance. We are to cause change, progression, or stimulation. We are to arouse sinners and stir up the gifts already planted in them that they will submit to God. We are to show them why they should detach and free themselves from sin. Jesus was a mover; He caused things to be aroused so much that He stirred the so call church world to put him to death.
Shakers are those that cause things to tremble, shiver, or pulsate. They cause movement in unknown places. Jesus was a shaker too! He shook up the whole religious and non-religious world with Godís Message. He calls for us to be movers and shakers also. Move in Him and shake the Devil off. We learn by experience, how to fear the Lord. When we hear the Word we increase in knowledge and learning. We can tell somebody something. We learn to do well by studying Godís Word. Instead we get mad at the Word like the Pharisees, Chief Priest, and Sadducees of Jesus day. Are we any better toward one another? The Word was written for our learning but we refuse to read it. How can we learn Christ without studying the Word?
All we have is the Gospel written, we didnít live in His time on the earth. What we do and say now reflect upon what He did but we donít really know Him. We are ever learning but never coming to the truth about who He is, God is or His Spirit.
A Fuller is one who cleanses or bleaches undressed cloth. God is the Fuller, His Word is the fullerís soap, and His Spirit is the bleach that keeps us clean after we have been washed. We canít make it without the Word and Spirit. Matthew 11:28-30 is a call to those burdened with sin. Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
The yoke is the Word easily studied that makes the Spirit move lightly in our lives without being loaded down with the cares of the world. The Word came after us to bring us back to that once pure state of Holiness. The Spirit is the continuator of the work of the Word that will once again fulfill, complete, accomplish, achieve and effect; the work of God in man. But for us to know this we must study and learn of God. God had a purpose for His Creation.
He had a purpose for making man in the earth. He had a purpose for Jesus coming to redeem man back to himself. Do we know that purpose? Do we study to know how to keep that purpose alive? Do we care? God says study to know me!
A workman is one that labors, enterprises, toils, accomplishes, performs, and produces results. We must labor in the Word, striving to achieve all that it has to offer for the betterment of me. We control how we operate and the energy we put forth in the Word. We must be diligent in our effort to know the more of God. If we are not diligent at some point in life we will be made ashamed which we are not to be.
We must know the gifts of God among us. Itís time we fixed our carnal minds and surrender the character of that mind to God. Jesus said in Matthew 4:10 speaking to Satan ďget thee hence Satan for it is written, thou shall worship the Lord thy God and Him only shall thou serveĒ. Jesus was the Word and He spoke the Word to Satan that only bows down to the Word of God. Itís too much of man serving man today, repent and get it right.
We must rightly, correctly, precisely, accurately, exactly, factually, truly, and justly understand the Word of God which is done through study. We must be able to rightly discern the Word which is done through the Spirit breathing on it and bringing life to the Word needed to bring about a change to our conditions. The Spirit breathing on the Word read will correct our lives, help us to repair other lives through soul winning, bring restoration to a dying world, remedy sin in the world, rectify souls and mend the relationship between God and man.
There must however though be a dividing that takes place. The Word divides us from sin. It causes a rift to come between man and sin as Jesus did. We must be disagreeable to some things causing difficulty for sin to enter in our lives and dispute everything that goes against God and hold on to the Word of Truth. In the Word we find Godís promises, His pledge to us if we will, He will. His guarantee of eternal life is there and His assurance of love, peace, and righteousness in the Holy Ghost; heaven on earth. Godís Word is Truth. Itís real, genuine, undistorted, authentic, just honest, faithful and reliable just as much as Jesus is real and the Holy Ghost is real. God is truthful, so are His Word and His Spirit.
